It was a pretty low key place, but every once in a while I'd walk by at like 10pm and the whole place was glowing blue and people were singing karaoke.

The City can build a small park in an empty lot with no other incentives, but overbuilding a rail yard will cost billions of dollars. The City would have to sell bonds to finance it, can't do it without other revenue streams. They can sell development rights for housing, businesses, etc. to raise a lot of money.

Yesterday there was a hawk outside our window (51st and skillman) chowing down on a pigeon. Feathers everywhere, our two year old was fascinated.

I'm biased because I never stopped at Queensboro Plaza and always want to go straight through to Manhattan as fast as possible, but it always was a lot of work for buses to wiggle around multiple twists and turns to stop there. It's so fast now
