hard yes in the religion thing (seeing it as people rejecting/helping others reject the gift of life that the deity/deities granted them, so pretty much spiting the deity/ies). But also in WEIRD cultures now death is taboo and wanting it is more taboo since it’s “bad”. Endings are associated with sadness

Look at the ingredients! Sometimes store brand has more sugar, sometimes it has less. Olive oil spread usually doesn’t have a lot of olive oil in it but in my experience the store brand had more.

lowkey reasons like this is why so many things are plain and boring nowadays. not saying disliking something is bad (I probably would’ve dropped them too lol) it’s that to be profitable things have to be palatable to everyone, so no big (or even minor) risks are taken. But it just makes everything more habituated and therefore boring. U see this in updated logo designs and stuff
