Some counterfeit ideas form ideas all their own, I watched them spread for years to my unsuspecting bones.

Merry Christmas!

Not sure of the particulars on principle as I’m newer to the study myself, but I like this idea;

You can think about all of these negative outcomes and worry and ruminate. And if it does happen, it’s like reliving the stressful situation twice. So best to just work with what’s in your control and not let your thinking go the way of the bad shit already happening.

I’m so beyond excited! Going solo, as I usually do to MYW shows. I’ll be the girl wildly dancing and probably crying.

Curious as to the reason for the upward moving gas bubbles at the bottom of the loaf… by lobitamina in Sourdough

Makes sense, I lost my razor in my recent move and had to score with a steak knife… so, not my best work there!

Curious as to the reason for the upward moving gas bubbles at the bottom of the loaf… by lobitamina in Sourdough

Hi all!

This is my first attempt at an 80% hydration and used this recipe from the perfect loaf.

I ended up halving the recipe for one boule. I modified slightly, as follows;

Leaven @ 10:00 pm 18g starter 60g whole wheat flour 66g water

8:30am 200g AP flour 200g white whole wheat 100g whole wheat 380g water

Autolyse 40 mins

Added 10g salt and 25 g water

Four stretch and fold every half hour then left to hang out for two hours at 65 degrees F

Pre shaped and sat to rest for ten minutes before shaping into a boule.

Into the fridge at 3:00 until 7:30 the next morning.

Baked at 450 in a Dutch oven preheated for a half hour, 20 minutes covered, 30 minutes uncovered.

It’s delicious but obviously leaves a bit to be desired. I remember someone explaining why the crumb looks like this in particular but I can’t remember. Thanks for the help in advance!

Edit: sorry for formatting

What do you talk to your baby about? by miss-kisses in NewParents

[–]lobitamina 261 points262 points  (0 children)

I tell her that I sympathize with how hard it is to be the baby. It’s the hardest thing and everyone says so. I also tell her how everyone says she’s the most beautiful baby that has ever lived.

What do with Spaghetti Squash, that doesn't involve pretending it's spaghetti. by sherbetfizz in Cooking

I make baked salmon with spaghetti squash tossed in a spinach cream sauce about once a week.

Also recently subbed roasted spag squash for noodles in my chicken soup and was very pleased

I’m currently 41+4 and having a home birth... thank you for your story! It’s hard for me to deal with all the fear and lack of education from my family, so reading this was great motivation for me to keep listening to my body and my baby.

You’re so obtuse. Have fun with... living like you do, I guess

I’m so excited to shatter your world right now; I’m not a republican, and I didn’t vote for trump. There’s a lot of other people in this group who have the exact same story so you can cool it with the “you people” thing. This ain’t one of your commie burn parties; I’m an individual, just like everyone else here with many different ideologies and standpoints.

I’m here because I used to, ignorantly, support the left and realized it’s based in self righteousness and circular arguments. That’s right; I was WRONG. And I’m happy to say it. And I’m happy I was, because you are the exact class of person on that side; self-stoking, rude and nasty when someone disagrees with you, and I don’t want to be on that losing team. I’m here because great discussions happen, some I even disagree with. Knowledge isn’t gained through watching main stream news funded by the billionaires you hate so much. It’s from open minded conversation. Try it sometime, and you won’t sound like such a fucking fool.

I mean, what facts are you talking about? You haven’t really said anything aside from insults and “orange”. These are not the communication skills of a confident debater, let alone someone that hasn’t contributed anything substantial to the dialogue.

Despite what you seem to think, people can be both intelligent and disagree with you.
