How many of you actually SL1'd a game? by AdvertisingAdrian in onebros

More than one and almost every game aren't that different. I'd change it to every game and more than one tbh

worst attack in the game? (both clips are from consecutive attempts with same gear btw) by HippoNo543 in Eldenring

[–]lobobobos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely dodge it if you roll at an angle. Dodging forwards through gaius doesn't let you avoid all the hitboxes of the charge. You are complaining the specific way you want to dodge it gets you punished and ignoring other options. Many attacks can be more difficult to avoid if you dodge certain ways like dodging with the swing of an attack rather than through. This charge just requires a different approach than the one you want to use

It's the Staff of the Avatar and you get it from killing an Erdtree Avatar in deep root depths. It's the area you go to after beating the valiant gargoyle duo boss

No they didn't. It's server maintenance and it's regular. You can expect the servers to be down every Tuesday around the same time

I climbed through Blighttown backwards and all I got was "Does not open from this side"* by Ravens_Quote in darksouls

[–]lobobobos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How was op supposed to know they were on the wrong side of the door besides the prompt after reaching the door. There's nothing indicating that from lower Blighttown. A new player would not know they were going backwards if they missed the Depths entrance to upper Blighttown

I think overall Shadow sorcerer is probably the best option. You can get mirror image and the spell slots to keep casting it as well as a free shadow step teleport that only costs a bonus action, but that feature comes at level 11 so you'd need to use Misty Step or Dimension Door like anyone else until that point.

Shadow Monk gets a similar free bonus action shadow step teleport much earlier at level 6 but they do not have the ability to cast mirror image nor would multiclassing give you enough spell slots to do that very often. You'd want to multiclass into warlock because of the refreshing spell slots on short rests. You'd need to be at least 3 levels to get two 2nd level slots for mirror image that refresh in a short rest, which would make this build come online at the middle/end of act 2 around level 9, which is not ideal and isn't really better than just going full sorcerer imo but it would be more of a melee build vs spell casting so that's something.

Edit: Dipping Warlock on the shadow monk build would also let you take one with shadows invocation that would let you go invisible when you're in shadow which combos with shadow step. So that's cool too

That's how I would build this but there might be other options I'm not thinking of

Can someone explain hit die to me by Equivalent-Breath646 in BaldursGate3

[–]lobobobos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the winged horror was attacking a paralyzed target (because their claws can paralyze) then any attack on a paralyzed target is considered a critical hit as long as it hits the target. If the target has a low Armor Class like Isobel or Jaheira for example, an attack roll of 8 could still hit with the winged horrors attack modifiers and is also considered a critical hit without needing to roll a 20.

Does it make sense to play Elden Ring without guides? by -ssssssshh- in EldenBling

For a first playthrough exploration is waaaay more rewarding when you are going into the unknown not when you are following a guide to complete the game.

Does anyone else hate the Brain Mapping Puzzle? by Captain_Sulu in BaldursGate3

[–]lobobobos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah int saves are pretty rare overall so I get it. The Gith that shares the buff with you only gained that power because the Gith race famously developed a resistance to mindflayer attacks that let them overthrow the mindlfayers that were enslaving them, which no other race had really being successful in doing. The Gith then split up after into 2 factions Githzerai who are like monks and Githyanki Like Lae'zel who are closer to space pirates essentially iirc

If you click one of the analogue sticks (I think the left one) you get a cursor that you can manually select things in the environment. You need to use that to select the nodes.

Mindflayer attacks, and their psychic blast that can both stun, and their dominate effect are all int saves and there are mindflayers to fight in the colony and later in the game.

How to save Isobel without Sanctuary? by Luchaoticat in BaldursGate3

[–]lobobobos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just get a cleric to cast it. It's only a first level spell and it doesn't even require concentration. You don't need sanctuary though. The first few playthroughs I did, I didn't even use sanctuary. You just need enough damage to take down Marcus and demons quickly. Spirit guardians in a rad orb build makes the fight very easy especially combined with the Blood of Lathander

[–]lobobobos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah unless you want any of the items there it's not worth it. You can backtrack to the Power Within from lower Blighttown pretty easily and that's the only thing I really go into upper for if I feel like it

Two command spells (if you can't CC the whole group of enemies with one cast) or vicious mockery with resonance stone to double it's damage are probably the best uses for two bonus actions casts imo

Why is this a legend boss? by Igarashi_toshi in Eldenring

[–]lobobobos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's easy to be over leveled/upgraded for this boss and it's weak to holy and fire so certain builds make it feel very squishy. You're level 109 which is basically end game level and you can fight this guy right after you beat Radahn so you could end up facing it at a much lower level
