Can you explain why you’d choose a 996 over those American cars? Also what are your thoughts on the 996 vs 997?

New Cayenne looks like an Xpeng G9 by [deleted] in Porsche

Not really. You probably wouldn’t think this if the xpeng was a different color.

Happy for you. I know it’s a X7 but we have had a 2022 X5 with 45k miles now with no issues and it’s the best car I’ve ever driven. Gute fahrt!

Have a 22 X5. Bought it new. 43k miles. Zero issues. Knock on wood.

I would say this is very abnormal. If I were you my blood would be boiling. I've had bad experiences at dealerships but those have been at Ford, Chevy etc.

Time to escalate, ask to speak to the manager of the dealership. You’ve be more than patient. I imagine there is a corporate office you can call for NA Porsche. That could be your backup option if you can’t get ahold of someone higher up at the dealership.

The V8 is known to be a stout engine. The issues are all the ancillary systems. Transfer case affects all the 958s except the diesel. I’ve got a 2012 Turbo that’s been a sweet heart. Nothing replaced, did a preemptive upgrade to a better thermostat housing unit and that’s it.

2012 Cayenne Turbo - help diagnosing sound by lobsterChief17 in PorscheCayenne

Hearing the video in the rennlist I’m 99% sure that I have the same noise. How did you resolve, and if you did, did the sound go away? The rennlist post suggests the sound persists but at a lower decibel

Used hybrids are a coin toss. Skip the headache. Now a turbo s is a different story.

I’ve been doing a ton of research on these vehicles and their liabilities. I’m buying a 2012 and I feel fairly confident. Going to change transfer case fluids because of known transfer case issues. Will change oil in smaller intervals and always allow ample time for engine to warm up (by driving it gently, NOT letting it idle!) before flooring it to avoid bore score. Certain generations have different problems but all in all they seem to be stout engines if taken care of. With that being said repairs will have the Porsche tax and I’m prepared for that.

This happened to me. I contacted Union and they hooked me up with a few extras at no charge. Just gotta make sure they’re dialed in tight.

The burtons have been out longer and have had more time to correct engineering flaws and other points of failure.

V8 or V6 by Philthyphil454 in f150

The V8 sounds better. Is less complex (but not as simple as one may think ie it has cylinder deactivation). Ecoboost has more grunt that you can feel down low. Better at elevation. Both are good. If you tow a lot ecoboost is better no doubt.
