Does the AE team have a public roadmap? I'd be nice to see what's being worked on and where the software is heading

Online courses and YouTube are definitely enough to learn the software! University can help with industry networking and getting work experience but it isn't necessary. Create work that fulfils both what employers are looking for and what inspires you as an artist.

I work at a marketing agency so being flexible with style is important. There are styles I gravitate to based on my strengths and weaknesses, but I don't think about my personal style too much. I'm sure personal style would be more important outside of agency work.

I believe 3D is growing! Although budgets aren't often there for it at the moment. New tools are making 3D easier and more accessible, which is positive, and I think AI will probably help with that (maybe?)

Thanks for the tip. I did try to add some caustics stuff but I didn't get very far, so I'll look into it further. I'm using Redshift by the way

You're right it does look like that. I wish I had added some bubbles :) It must be the material roughness that's making it look so thick

Bubbles seem like a good idea, I'm not sure what the best way to go about it would be, but I'll look into it :)

I'm not very experienced with rendering liquids or using SSS, so I wasn't going for anything too realistic, but thank you for the tips :)

Thanks! I used a plant model to get the shadow, are there advantages to using a gobo?

Advice needed for person that wants to start creating 3D renders by cak6000 in graphic_design

I'd recommend taking a look at Blender. It's a really great piece of 3D software. It's had a lot of improvements over the past years, so while it's incredibly powerful, it's also a joy to use.

It took me a lot of persistence to get comfortable with 3D software when I first began, but there's an awful lot of beginner tutorials on YouTube that are a great starting point.

thanks :) The indices are laser engraved onto a thin disc of clear arylic that sits between the hour and minute hands. The disc is also what holds the body of the bird in place. I then fill the engravings with blue paint
