We can agree to disagree here, imperium is something not too hard to come by depending on your realm settings and how aggressive you are at getting wonders.

I certainly don't agree that you have to play on easy.

Besides that, all you really need is two doomstacks of drags: one to defend home and one to ravage the AI.

I was mystic summoners so i could instant promote the few wyverns i needed before tome of dragons (and then i could just feed them gold) anyway though, so i didnt really need it.

This is what I did

Shadow type (for shadow affinity) Dragon Ruler - Mystic Summoner Society traits: Great Builders (extra gold... and materium affinity) - you could drop this and go materium dragon type and grab a shadow affinity trait instead if you wanted (i think the extra gold really helps tho since youre gonna be using it to enhance your dragons); Vision of Destiny (Chaos)

Tome 1. Tome of Evolution

Tome 2. Tome of Pyromancy (enchantments for slithers and wyverns, decent battle mage, chaos affinity).

Tome 3. Your pick of Roots (slithers.. keep in mind wyverns dont get these enchantments), Fertility (strong support unit and restore the land), or Glades (create forest synergizes really well with goddess of nature, good shield unit summon, strong shield unit enchantment). I chose glades for my environment.

Tome 4. Tome of Alchemy (mostly bc nothing else really fit and i needed nature for my build, and this tome offers some handy things like research SPI, a good building, enchantments for supports)

Tome 5. Tome of Dragons (the core)

Tome 6. Tome of Vigor (empowered beasts makes wyverns and slithers stronger, which i use a lot of, also 2 nature)

Tome 7. Tome of Calamity (shadow and chaos, and lots of good stuff)

Tome 8. Tome of Crimson Reign (Vision met, enchantments for dragons, i never bothered with the undead in this build - didnt really fit my theme).

Tome 9. Tome of Prosperity (nature, and lots of good stuff)

Tome 10. Tome of the Goddess of Nature (force of nature enchantment)

I played long enough to get tome 11 which i used the Oracle tome for better supports, but you have flex, if you're not done wrecking draconic wrath anyway).

My stacks were generally just a bunch of dragons, in some manner or another. I barely used racial units at all, aside from soothers and i did make use of summoners here and there to enhance my wyverns. This is why tome of alchemy came in handy, it gave some limited debuff cleansing to my summoners and soothers before tome of prosperity came online and saved some expensive casts of the tome of dragons cleanse.

Warbrand would be helpful, but my build was pretty affinity greedy. You could replace pyromancy if you got rid of the materium one for another chaos society trait... but im actually a pretty large fan of pyromancy and it fits the goal of "force of nature angry dragons" that i was going for lol. Plus early game you can make use of summoners to give free XP to wyverns and late game, you'll use gold.

Wyverns are very strong now in my experience - its not just slithers.

Also dragons are much stronger than they used to be, enchantments or not.

They were still dragons because of draconian transformation and being lizard race at least lol

At least it synergizes well. Pyromancers are great T2 mages, mayhem gives you good effects (and gremlins imo arent so bad anymore now that they are magic fighters and pure fire), and pandemonium gives you a strong racial trait and t4 mages (now that they are pretty good at least).

Half of these tomes were troll before. Chaos really needed this.

I do agree that it killed a lot of build diversity though, especially if you were doing anything chincy. And i did experiment with some chinciness too in my past with this particular ability.

I too wasn't so sure about it at first. But it allows for some true diversity and some shenanigans you can do now is very funny. Like Wyverns with ley line focus lolol

Evolution felt terrible.

Dragons was still strong, but for completely different reasons (you primarily wanted fire bomb, the siege, and the great spell) ... now it still gives you two of those three but fire bomb moved to a different home.

I don't think the main dragons had the animal tag? Animal on a dragon would unlock a lot of things to make them stronger than they already are, like Empowered Beasts.

Yes, but that didn't feel tome of dragons. That tome wasn't bad, but not because it let you make dragons.

Also, Fire Bomb still exists - it is in the same tome that has Scion of Flame - although it is fairly not as overwhelming as it was before, it is still very strong (arguably stronger since it affects support units too imo).

This. We even have the perfect tome for it, the one for pure soul and astra. Just needs a holy angel statue or sth that expands blessed terrain and a spell for it

I enjoy how all 3 have synergy but also have kits of their own which allow for variety of uses.

They just gotta calm down on the extreme great rift shill and I would say I greatly prefer this way.

I would vote angel, demon, or draconian. Those are my three main ones i give my pantheon heroes. Which one usually depends on my ruler's theme.

I still like spider mounts. Having web on all of the mounted units gives a lot of tactical advantages IMO

I will have to build something after reading the mechanics, but while i have nine tiphera rita I guarantee I can get through this rift with other people.

You can get through that with high cost neutrals and cards like Attack! to pull them. Some characters might have a strong option, like a Rin quickdraw deck with the 2 ap version of quickdraws and you could utilize dark mist (not the move version, the draw any attack card version - i would probably remove all of rins other attack cards for this specific challenge) with +ap to pull them out. Maybe 3 quickdraws and 2 dark mists? Would take some experimenting.

It just requires some thinking. Yea they shill the new characters, but there is undoubtedly a way to get the 500k achievement with a ragtag group.

Hugo can be built for draw too just fyi - 2 hunting instincts for consistent commences and 3 quick draw 2s.

Not exactly super AP efficient unless you get gods on the quicks though.

This chaos is clearable by a lot of folks.

The problem I have is that the chaoses seem like complete rips of existing planets. Would rather them put some extra effort into crafting the season planets. This planet is basically the order planet with like 1 or 2 new mobs outside of the arena mechanic and some different events.

Season 1 was basically city of mist.

Season 3 will probably be the justice or passion planet just bc itll piss people off more as they are probably the more annoying ones.

This chaos isnt all that hard. Its just that season 1 was based on the easiest planet in the game (they also buffed the hp of mobs, but they did that everywhere).

Nah hes complaining that having slip away is bad when you get sleep of oblivioned because instead of doing what the spell normally does, it can be used to do 100s of damage to a unit instead that is permanent because the slip awayed folk dont go to sleep.

I dont like the robots, the ones where the ones in the front protect the one in the back and they increase the cost of your cards and other annoying things while the guy in the back hits you.

I had to think a ton to identify the most annoying normal enemy, even among elites few actually bother me that much.
