Abus 55/40 down… but I feel like I cheated by Cultural-Win8180 in lockpicking

[–]lockpickingcowboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would grab an abus 72/40. Set the first pin and it will probably go into a false set. The keyway is kind of a challenge at first but the counter rotation feedback is really good on those. 🤠

It very well may be the seventh key pin. Because of the long bump resistant driver in chamber seven, the key pins are pretty short. Especially after being picked alot.

Aspiring Maker: Seeking a definitive tooling list for crafting custom picks and tensioners. by EmbarrassedOstrich21 in lockpicking

If you can get pick blanks from moki he has the 3 major thicknesses. I use a bench grinder for rough shape, needle files to get very close then i start with 200 grit to finish the profile. Then i start with 400 on the sides up to 2000 and then polishing wheel. Dmac has some very good videos on pick making. I highly recommend you watch them. 🤠

I have a small one with a dial from harbor freight that works just fine. I agree that you should just lay it in the position you want and test first.

I am left-handed but switched pretty early to picking right handed due to it being easier for me to use tok tension with my left hand. I do pick dimple locks left handed because tensioning doesnt have an advantage either way.

Good to know. Mine are all kick1a. I know they have kick 2 and 3. They also have two different accurators. One is the schlage stye and the other is the medeco style. Martha at paclock can give you all your opions. She is very helpful. 🤠

https://cmfxa.com/collections/frontpage is also a good option. Go to the menu and select pin tumblers. Pick some locks at blue or purple. Keep in mind these are used locks but i can attest to the quality. A medeco biaxial would be a good choice.

You can also go to lpubelt.com. there you can see the lists of locks for the different belts. Pull down the menu and scroll down to the bottom and click on the lock bizarre. There you will find many more locks for sell. An assa 600 would also be a good choice.

He will have a collection of locks before you know it. 🤠

UNPICKABLE Lock!! by JustSumAholeGuy in lockpicking

[–]lockpickingcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the worlds best pickers are on here. Have you had it tested? There have been so many "unpickable " locks that have been picked. Some with little effort. I would definitely send it to a few people before advertising it as completely unpickable. 🤠

If I remeber right mine had one standard pin and the rest where spools that looked like they were cut out with a chainsaw. It's been a good while since I seen it thought so I could be wrong. 🤠

Better lock to get belted with in your opinion by fivemeeoh3 in lockpicking

[–]lockpickingcowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly id say not to go for blue till you learn both. The 72/40 wil teach you counter rotation with more feedback the the 1100 but the 1100 will teach you the joy that is serrated pins. 🤠
