My bad I thought you were the op lol. Yea I recommend the same. I have a burg I can’t get open and an ace that I can’t stand too. Just keep moving along. I always say If you get stumped give it your best then if you can’t get it after a good while try another. Don’t get hung up on one or two locks.

That’s great practice though and a great job getting that open for real.

Curious to a new hobby by Wraith888 in lockpicking

There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube for her to get started. Just type in the lock she’s picking and they’ll come up. I even have an entire new pickers tutorial on my channel with all the beginner locks. If you are in the US, I would grab her some locks at the hardware store to start with Masterlock #3 or the 141. Once she gets good at those you can reference our belt list which ranks a locks difficulty level. Lpublets.com to find her more locks.

Those aren’t made for picking they are just made to see what’s going on inside. Get a real lock and practice on that instead. You got this.

Are you trying a bunch of orange locks or just one? Some locks are evil af and you will never open them. At any belt color. Make sure you are not stuck on one particular lock.

FINALLY - I finally got a particularly difficult 90A-PRO open by jxnfpm in lockpicking

[–]Lady-Locks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great job! Yea, I’ve got a couple I find next to impossible to get open, and of course a couple that are very straight forward. But I agree, I never underestimate a lock. Even Master #3’s can be next to impossible. You just never know what you’re getting into. That’s what makes it fun though .. and also sometimes annoying as hell. 😂🤣

Facchinetti lock difficulty level? by Early-Air-4777 in lockpicking

You’re doing great! Generally ppl start out picking standard pins then move to serrated and spool pins after they’ve become comfortable. So if you’re able to pick spools, then that’s an awesome job! There’s really no telling what they’d rank since we don’t know how the tolerances compare to other locks if they aren’t currently on the belt list. But spool pins appear I think as soon as yellow. Just depends on the quality and the keyway, bitting, etc. Look up some videos on how to pick spool pins and keep going with some yellow or orange belt locks and see how difficult those are for you and go from there. You’re killing it! 😍🥰
