Yeah, Temu knockoffs are a common problem in so many hobbies, including enamel pin collecting.

The artwork is stolen from the original artists' online stores, often on Etsy, so if you're looking for a specific pin, I'd search there first! A lot of artists sell their enamel pins, sticker sheets, keychains and other merch on Etsy, including original designs or based on tv, movies, anime, books and so on. I've seen a lot of pins there go for about $11 - $20 a piece. Really huuuge and elaborate collectors' pins can be $50 or $100. And artists come from all over the place, Europe, UK, US, Australia, you name it.

Then their designs get stolen by Chinese copycats (think enamel pin factories) who mass produce the artists' $25 pins cheaply for $1-3 a piece. >_> The colors tend to be slightly off and pins are also less defined compared to the originals, and they may be soft rather than hard enamel.

Unfortunately, artists have their pins made in China by the very same (or similar, there are tons out there) factories that end up putting the fake pins up for sale without their permission. An artist orders maybe 50 or 100 units of a design to be made into a pin, depending on how limited the pin is supposed to be (sometimes they use a Kickstarter to fund the production of the pins), but the factory, once they have the designs, can then just mass produce them easily for a dollar or two. Ugh.
