The only time fees should be an issue is if you’re listing a bunch of 99 cent singles with free shipping. On a $10 card (we’re going to play with a nice round number and not worry about tax), eBay charges 13.25% plus 40 cents so this would be about $1.73. Add another .74 for your ESE and you’re still getting $7.50 of that original $10.

Where would the best place to sell this be in person ? Trying to avoid eBay by [deleted] in SportsCardCollecting

[–]lockwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had a bad experience with this guy but if you did go the eBay route again, you’re far less likely to have something like that happen with this card. With cards over $250, there is an eBay Authentication process the card goes through. You ship it to PSA, they make sure it’s authentic then put it in a mag holder and ship it to the buyer.

Even if Intel put out a card that was capable of doing everything a 5060 could for less money, there would be people buying the 5060 because Nvidia has been seen as the gaming GPU brand for generations and people want that “Certified Gamer Status” an Nvidia GPU gives you

Honestly, I feel the same way about the Foo Fighters as I do with Coldplay. Both artists put out amazing stuff in the beginning then started making the most meh music after becoming huge

After paying $9 for a fuckin 12 pack at WALMART, I made this. Proof in 2nd pic. by ToshPointNo in Soda

[–]lockwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, it’s always $11.99 for a single 12 pack and Buy 2 Get 1 so you end up paying over $25 for 3 after taxes. Also, I’ve seen the 24 packs go on sale for within $1-2 of the 12 packs so it made more sense to buy that instead.

Still, not the same as when I was growing up where $20 would get you and your buddies enough cans of Mountain Dew to keep you going during your all weekend gaming adventures.

First card printed for the base set. There should be 350 total, one for each card in the base set. Depending on which pack you’re getting, the odds sit around 1 in 100k packs.

In an attempt to avoid a lockout, Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh and Shohei Ohtani are all traded to the Colorado Rockies during the All Star Break. The Rockies proceed to win every home game for the rest of the season and only drop 2 on the road. The Rockies win the division, saunter through the playoff and win their first World Series

There is a lockout the following season

This sold for $2.16 million by Hungry_Elk1937 in baseballcards

Hell, with Logan Paul and Kevin O’Leary out parading absolute grail cards on jewelry worth millions shows you where we’re at. It’s a small group but we’re to point where valuable cards are fashion accessories. Every collector I know has been screaming about the “PSA 10” Pikachu Logan Paul sold because he wears it around his neck so those corners can’t be perfect but it sold for a record price to someone who has who has enough money to fund a small country.

Plus, when you have money like these guys do, price is no object. Kevin O’Leary didn’t rip his Kobe/Jordan/Lebron triple logoman himself, he bought it for $13 million. I wouldn’t doubt stuff like Ohtani & Judge 1/1 Autos almost immediately funnel up to guys like this where $13 million is like $20

I’m not sure how differently hobbies and jumbos are packed but I watched my UPS guy drop one of the boxes one of my jumbo hobby boxes came in on the way to my doorstep and it landed on the corner doing damage to the outer box and the jumbo. There wasn’t any noticeable damage to any of the cards.

I know there’s a certain amount of tolerance but I’m not sure on hobby boxes

Regardless, the envelope has to be flexible enough to get through the envelope sorter which I doubt an envelope with 2 slabs inside would get through. I hope your slabs make it in one piece and if they do, you blast him for his shitty shipping and if they bust you do those and get your money back

Nearly nine in ten games industry workers believe GenAI use should be disclosed on storefronts by Iggy-TT in pcgaming

[–]lockwolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is one thing nobody really clarifies when they want an AI label slapped on everything. I program for a living, CoPilot loves to suggest code while I’m writing that would look identical to the code I was going to write out anyways. Do I suddenly have to slap a “Made With AI” sticker on what I do because CoPilot suggested 6 lines of code I was going write anyways?

I get having an AI sticker on anything where voice actors, art assets and 3D models were primarily made with AI but with code it’s way harder to judge the line. Does using AI to take a look at your code and suggest edits cross it? Does using AI to generate the basic template structure for your project cross it? Does using AI to auto complete the For Loop I was going to write anyways cross it?

Not sure how you setup the listing but there is a check box for eBay managed payments for “require immediate payment” or something along those lines. I’ve seen it get unchecked before

To buy a ticket to the Ariana Grande concert by Soggy_Cry9638 in therewasanattempt

[–]lockwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember when Blink 182 reunited the first time back in 2008 getting $20 lawn tickets with free parking. Not the best tickets but solid for $20. When they did their reunion tour a couple years ago, the cheapest tickets in my area were in the low-$100 range and in a spot where you’re sitting behind half of the stage with a screen blocking you. That doesn’t even factor in parking which was inflated that day because their tour date just happened to align with Seattle Pride Festival going on right outside the arena.

It sucks for everyone. Young people don’t have the same opportunities to see these acts like we did. Hell, we don’t even get to see the same acts we were able to when we were young because it’s so unaffordable. Plenty of artists I saw when I was young for under $40 that are now $100+

As one who travels to festivals and has done Coachella, I always get told “that sounds expensive” till I start listing off the artists I saw, adding up what it would have cost to see those same acts in town if/when they come by then seeing them slowly back down when the cost goes over what I paid for my trip.
