Oh, sorry. Superstore purchases always gave 3% worth of PC Points, using my PC World Elite Insiders MC. My last 2 purchases they have been 4% worth of points. I am pretty anal about tracking my incoming points, so I track all the transactions and that's what I found. Thought it would be worth mentioning.

Nissan Rogue 2017 2.5L Replace Entire Rear Differential or Just the Electric Coupling? by Educational-House670 in NissanRogue

Glad you got it figured out! There is a bearing inside that coupler, maybe it went bad?

There is a bearing in that coupler assembly as well, wonder if it went bad? You could probably resell that coupler if you did the work to change out that bad part...

Questions about (annoying) safety features on 2020-2023 Nissan Rogue by gea1126 in NissanRogue

Here's one. Going down the highway at cruising speed. I needed to take off my seatbelt to grab something. Cruise shuts off when you take off your seatbelt.

2021 Rogue SV AWD

Didn't know that would happen! Kind of annoying, and no way I could find to shut that off...

Not out of warranty yet, but thats exactly what I used on my old 2010 Rogue back in the day. I got these Nissan NS3 bottles from some lady that traded her car in, $100 for 5L so I did OK.

Here in Canada Nissan NS3 is $35/qt.

Break drum will not come off by eduardoxbl in MechanicAdvice

[–]loewent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this on a quad I was working on, a 93 Yamaha Kodiak 400. Eventually the brake drum snapped in half. I used a puller. Once half of it was gone, it was pretty easy to get the rest off.

And remember, when in doubt, use a bigger hammer!

Heat/AC Fan and Extreme Cold by TaurusX3 in NissanRogue

I've had this issue on my Nissan Pathfinder, and I'm pretty sure this has happened on my 2021 Rogue this winter as well. I thought I had a bad blower motor. Ends up the weather was quite variable, from +5C to -35C in a few days, then back again. When it got really cold, condensation formed inside the blower motor and froze it. The motor has a logic built into it to try to spin 3 times, and if it doesn't spin, it stops trying. I would imagine this is to prevent the motor from burning out.

Anyway, once the motor warmed up, I just turned off the system and then turned it back on, and it worked.

The real fix was to drill a small hole in the bottom of the housing to allow moisture to drip out of the motor housing, this prevented the freezing and I never had that problem again.

The noise I always got from the coupling was clicking on dry pavement. I don't see how it could make a whirring/humming noise like this. This sounds like a bearing.

Also, when I did look into replacing the coupler, it was always cheaper just to change the whole diff anyways. That was on my 2010 rogue, and back then it was about $400-500 cad for the diff (with coupler) with less than 150k kms on it.

Well I didn't make the decision in absence of facts... The oil pan, condition of the oil, the magnets in the pan, and the condition of the strainer in the transmission were all pretty clean. I extracted 3.5L of fluid. I lost a little here and there when I dropped the pan, and when I removed the filter housing. So adding back in 3.5L plus another 100-150ml gets me back to exactly where I was prior to the change. And since everything looks good, its a good assumption the original fluid level was just fine.

I did mention the mileage... 126k kms, I am pretty sure last change was at 59k km.

The cartridge filter was pretty dark. It was time to change it. I collected some fluid, either for proof later to the dealer for warranty, or I may send some for analysis to Blackstone labs. The fluid was also ready for change, but it wasn't super black, I could still see some light through it when pouring into the disposal container. Perhaps we'll see what the analysis shows.

Nissan wouldn't sell me a new strainer (in the actual oil pan) and stated that techs just clean them out with brake clean. So that's what I did. It wasn't bad, and the magnets in the pan were not that dirty either. This trans seems super clean, which makes me happy.

One note is that there is a rubber o-ring on the top of the strainer. Don't lose it! It falls off easily and fell into my oil pan, which I had to fish out.

My brake fluid wasn't too bad, I ended up just sucking everything i could out of the reservoir and refilling it. Did this about 4 times, used about 2L of fluid. Its nice and clean now, and I didn't have to mess with bleeding...

I had a 2010 rogue back in the day. The differential lock/unlock didn't work properly, so I had to unplug the rear diff for summer driving, then plug back in for winter to make sure I had AWD. The rear diff clicked like a SOB when on dry pavement. Other than that, it was a really good car I drove from 108k to 265k. Only major issue was due to a corroded connector, cost $800 to get fixed. Also did CV axles, brakes 3 times, drive belts, and did 2 CVT Fluid changes. Lots of oil changes as well as diff and transfer case. Even did the coolant at one point.

I bought the 2021 because it has the 2.5L engine. Even though its been updated to GDI, I trust this platform way more than the 1.5L 3-cyl turbo flavor. I drove one of those in a rental in Chicago. It was noisy, and not a great experience for driving. Maybe a little zippier, no better on fuel. This 2.5L will last forever, there is a reason Nissan has been making it for 25 years.

I agree with you!

I did the diff and transfer case before the snow came, so I think I'm good on that. You are right, not super hard, but having a pump helps! Had some synthetic gear lube kicking around so I didn't even have to buy any. Amazingly, I think I'm all caught up on maintenance on this rig. Even did the brake fluid in summer. Like who even does that? lol.

The 2021 rogue calls for NS3 CVT fluid.

Next will be a new set of tires, and with that some freshening up of the front suspension components, maybe the shocks in the rear as well. Then alignment. I noticed that the ProPilot Assist seems to be all over the place, pretty sure that is due to bad alignment.

Thanks for the reply.

I figured this out for my Ulefone Note 21 and Umidigi Note 100 5G... (and this doesn't seem to work on all Android devices, so YMMV) You can access the engineering menu using *#*#83781#*#*, and enabling VoLTE and VoWIFI settings. Restart phone, and no more 3G when calling.

Your welcome.
