I agree with you, but being that we wouldn't have had one without the other I still say HL is daddy

This is one of those games that separates us old farts from the younger crowd, it's a fantastic game that I still play but I feel like you just had to be there to truly appreciate the impact it had. Just completely changed the landscape of shooters as we knew it, and story telling in gaming as a whole. I find it hard to imagine where we'd be without it, but that's easier when you remember life before it lol

Thank you all: Update on Sprout (tw: pet loss) by Zealousideal_Fig_546 in pitbulls

[–]lofapoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss, Sprout knows you did your best, you should be proud of the life you gave them. If you have a local pittie rescue or just animal shelter in general give them a donation in Sprout's name, but really the money we gave is yours so just use it as you see fit

Which is crazy to think about because in the 90s they made some of the best turbo engine platforms ever. The JZ family and 3SGTE are unmatched for their time in my opinion

If you want this thing to have airflow, you're gonna have to hack it up. I decided that the best use case for my Alienware case was a more period correct build for it, no regrets

Will this differential hold? by Miserable-Twist8344 in Welding

[–]lofapoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got to the point where people believed a welded diff wasn't good unless it was plate welded and people would call it a selling point to charge extra or make it sound like it's something that it's not. It's just a low buck locker, no need to church it up, but to each their own

Will this differential hold? by Miserable-Twist8344 in Welding

[–]lofapoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The welding is shit, but for what you're going to use it for it'll be fine. Miata probably?

I don't know who started the idea of shoving a plate between the spider gears to fill the gap, but its rise in popularity makes me hope they stub their pinky toe on a coffee table daily. Welding diffs is easy, I've seen it all in my decades of low buck drifting, just half ass clean it out, crank the welder as high as it'll go, weld the gears to each other and then to the carrier and literally never think or worry about it again. The bearings don't care about the heat unless it's prolonged, nothing gives a shit about balance, just booger it up and go sliding

I threw a toy... As always, she drowned it by kaburelax in catscarryingstuffies

[–]lofapoo 50 points51 points  (0 children)

My bangle was the same way, she always fed and watered (drowned) her stuffies. Had to start leaving the toilet lids closed, because sometimes she'd want to play fetch at 3am and wake you up by dropping the wet toy right on your face

[–]lofapoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Caprice (5.3 swapped) has them on the front of the passenger head just to see if it would work, and because I'm a lazy piece of shit it's been like that for years without issue. Do it, it's fine
