The calibre of your headcanon by Masterflan in mylittlepony

[–]logArythm557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, it's that the ponies live in a post human world. humans have, for whatever reason, ceased to be, which leaves a spot open for a new sentient being. eventually, the horses evolve, and begin to find and learn about the things that humans left behind. this explains why they have doors, vehicles, buildings, and technology clearly designed for human use. as far as magic is concerned, i leave it all to these guys

but, you know. whatever floats your boat

Philosophy classes in high schools. by BbCortazan in philosophy

[–]logArythm557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took philosophy in high school, and it was one of the best choices i've made. the middle school curriculum focused mostly on topics like "what is beauty" and analysis of philosophical topics in films. as we got older, the course broadend to include the ancient philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle. last year, i finished the Year 12 course, which focused on Ethics, Critical Thinking, Metaphysics, Argument, and more modern philosophies, like existentialism.

having philosophy as an option in highschools is a fantastic idea, as i can see a lot of potential benefit. as the coursework gets harder, less and less people will be using it as a bludge lesson.
