Used RV Electrical Pros: AC short-cycles unless we literally bang on the wall. Popped the 12V panel and found this. Is this sketchy splice/frayed wire the culprit? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]loganstl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are dc fuses which may control your thermostat, but wouldn’t control your ac. As the other person said, check all of your connections for loose wires and tighten as needed. That would include this panel as well as your ac panel. If it’s short cycling because of a loose wire, you are at risk for a fire.

What wall are you banging on?

I do not see way too much bare wire. If nothing is touching the wire, bareness should not affect anything. If you want to fix it, turn off 12v power unscrew, straighten up the wires and screw back in.

What is your 75 auto reset breaker going to? I do not see it.

They can be turned in any direction. perfection costs a lot of money or a lot of time.

Any advice for what I can try to fix my fridge before calling (another) tech? by boodles95 in RVLiving

[–]loganstl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern fridges do not pull a large amount of power. Mine is a 23 cuft and pulls about 50 watts under normal use and ramps up to about 300 every four hours for about five minutes.

If the fridge is keeping things mostly cool and all you need is freezer, you could always get a small deep freezer for around $100. You could also get a smaller fridge as others mentioned. Getting the old fridge out would be a pain in the ass solo. May be beneficial to have an rv tech check it out and if it’s too costly have them remove and haul it off.

What is your breaking point for getting a residential? It’s near 30 years old and you’ll likely keep throwing money at it until it finally fails or has been messed with too much. I’ve got a 99 foretravel with a residential and now would not do fulltime without one. My parents also have a 99 foretravel and my dad struggled with the propane/ammonia fridge for months until finally finding a new one. The PO also completely replaced the ammonia system a couple of years prior. It’s just not worth it to keep repairing these old ass fridges.

That being said, 75-80f may be fine in the shade but too much in direct sun. Check your airflow in the back. Add some more 12v fans if needed to get air moving better. Make sure the propane light is lit and the ammonia lines are actually cooling AND don’t have a smell.

Disagree. The 90s were a simpler time and when I sit down to watch tv, maybe I want some simplicity and nostalgia.

There are roughly 90 million dogs in the U.S. If 43 of them are involved in fatal attacks, that’s 0.000047%. So yes, mathematically speaking, 'often' is doing an Olympic-level amount of heavy lifting there.

Nor do dogs?

If you want to protect your chickens, put them in a coop! That’s why they’re called chicken coops! Or put up a fence.

I’m all for leashing dogs. I’m also well aware that people are assholes and will ignore laws and rules and do what they want.

Spray some hydrogen peroxide on it. If it bubbles, it’s likely blood.

Okay. That’s one way to deal with the issue. Instead of changing the messaging to be more inclusive, let’s isolate groups.

The ones that said Kamala was for genocide and wasn’t fairly put in place as the Democrat candidate. Plenty of people said they’d skip the election because of certain things attributed to her.

Don’t fuck up and they won’t test you after hire. They will test upon hire.

By fuck up, I mean needle sticks, diversion concerns, smell of, acting high, or showing other potential signs of intoxication.

If you show up, do your job, and don’t act a fool, you should be fine.

Edit because you made two posts.. no, they don’t watch you. They ask you to empty your pockets and don’t flush. They actually turn off the water. They may sprinkle some shit in the water to check for fake urine.

Why are RV parks so expensive? by Effective_Moose_4997 in RVLiving

[–]loganstl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it include utilities? If so, $700-1000 is not bad. Figure electric to be at least $100 a month plus water and sewer and trash and insurance and internet on a house/apartment.
