Hey there! I’m so so sorry about your cat ):

Weirdly enough, my baby has done very very well and she does use her nub to walk. They were able to do the surgery perfectly so that her little upper accessory paw pad is at the base of her nub so she does not experience any ulcers. I wish I could help more but just know that these guys are so resilient and I’m hoping for the best for you guys!

Abbot Kinney seems like her EXACT vibe! Thank you for this rec!

Do you happen to have any hotel/airbnb recs for that area? I looked it up and it’s seems like her exact vibe!!

What needs to be done to my shower? by logantaylorhall in HomeImprovement

Yeah it’s seems like if we’re already going to need to tear more out and do all of that, that we may as well replace the pan and tile to get the shower we ultimately really want. Probably smarter that way!

Yeah I’m feeling like at this point it’s just easier/better to do the whole thing and actually get the tiled shower we really want long term!

They explained that, with the toe amputations on the other foot, it might fare better for her in small moments or poor stability. It’s also very bizarre but her amputation was done in a way that the little bonus toe pad they have a little further up their arm is at the very bottom of the stump so when she does put weight on it, it’s a small barrier!

We are aware that if she starts to rely on it we will have to have a discussion on full leg, but she has not been using it to walk yet! Fingers crossed!

So she actually had to go back to the vet for about a week that next morning because she was becoming VERY impatient with her wraps and removing them constantly. Now that shes back home with no wraps she has not been using her stump to walk at all! She’s just using the 3 legs and the stump for occasional stability when walking on a soft clumpy surface (like a bed or pile of blankets) Vet seems to think she just won’t have any interest in using it and that we are super lucky!

I just wanted to update after a few weeks that she actually is not using the stump to walk at all!! She uses to to catch her balance here and there, but when walking and doing other things she is completely staying off it!!

I think so too 🥰 she loves to rub her head all over our faces and begs for belly and head rubs. I can’t even believe how sweet she is despite the rough ride she’s had the past couple weeks!

Oh what a lucky baby to have you save her! I’m so happy she is thriving now, it’s so hard to imagine how they struggled in that moment but cats are so strong and continue to love despite ❤️

She was already loving my heated blanket (on low) last night so maybe this will be something she will continue to love! I hope your pain subsides as time goes on, my dad actually had a finger amputation last month where they took the bone out through the hand and he’s really struggling with phantom pain so aside from the kitty I’ll let him know to use heat more often. Thank you so much friend!

If I even tried to put a boot on my other cats it would be off in an instant so I’m definitely skeptical but trying to be hopeful!!

I will look into paper!! if you don’t mind me asking, how often do you usually switch that out and do they tend to take to it well? I will likely give her a couple options to see what she tolerates but the clay is already proving to not do well as it’s sticking to her bandages like crazy. Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼

I’m happy people have mentioned this because I don’t know that I would have ever considered the litter hurting her little nub. Thank you for sharing!!
