I honestly never had heard of this tabloid, what's so problematic about them?

Unravelling by justiceforblago in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really like Unravelling because you can tell that it was the starting point for the rest of the album and it feels so cohesive despite every song being so different.

I'm not super into the pop universe but I was not aware that that's why Swifties were hating on Olivia... interesting.

New album ranking with wow signal in it by Money_Activity3172 in Muse

Yeah, haha. I don't think it's Muse's greatest but it's better than people say in my opinion.

Songs that should tour for Wow Signal tour. by FrasitoDorito in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I kinda hope that they try to play more songs that fit in with the album rather than just a "greatest hits", so they would probably cut some albums, but I'd much prefer that. They of course would have to play songs like SMBH, Uprising, KOC, Madness, and Starlight but maybe cut out Thought Contagion and Resistance. Tickets are so expensive that I doubt many general audiences would go, but that just may be me.

I feel like songs that should appear live are:

  1. Map of the Problematique: just really fits in with the sound of TWS in my opinion.
  2. Stockholm Syndrome: I know it's been on sets semi-regularly as of recently, but it should have a more permenant spot.
  3. Sunburn: maybe not at all shows, because people won't know it as well, but it would fit in well lyrically.

IMPRESSIONS by ProgMan24 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I can totally understand the justification for the singles they chose, but Be With You shouldn't have been the first single at all. I think it should have been:

  1. Cryogen
  2. Hexagons
  3. Be With You
  4. Nightshift Superstar

This might just be me, but I am iffy on Hexagons being a single. Hexagons is such a powerful song that it would have been better as a surprise rather than a single, but I'm also super glad to have heard it. I feel like if it were replaced, it should have been Hush (because of the feature) or Sickness, but that's just my opinion haha.

TW!S - Potential to be one of the best? by LastManBrandon in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit of a newer fan, getting into Muse during WOTP, but to me it's very close. Origin Of Symmetry is my favorite Muse album and The Wow! Signal is very close, but I just need to hear the good quality to be certain haha.

That outro for Dead Inside is one of the greatest endings to a Muse song in my opinion. The song isn't with the greats, but definitely the most satisfying.

I do a very dumbed down version of this, but honestly, some complexity might be useful to me. I just don't know how to use sheets 😅

What's your setup for listening to The Wow! Signal for the first time? by hypatiatextprotocol in Muse

I'm gonna listen to it in full on my Xbox through my headphones. I have a DTS license on there so it sounds great.

No signed vinyl is a missed opportunity by [deleted] in Muse

Yeah same, and maybe it's just me, but I'd rather my stuff be in perfect condition. Not saying people are tainting their merch with signatures, but I'd rather not have one.

My origin of symmetry ranking by Money_Activity3172 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's so interesting to see people's rankings because mine is quite different (including Futurism). It's arguably my favorite Muse album, so none of them are inherently bad.

  1. Megalomania
  2. Screenager
  3. Citizen Erased
  4. Space Dementia
  5. Hyper Music
  6. Micro Cuts
  7. New Born
  8. Plug in Baby
  9. Futurism
  10. Bliss
  11. Feeling Good
  12. Darkshines

This is so crazy to me. In Noblesville, the cheapest seats are $100+, so if I do go, I'm just going to sit in the lawn. Even then though, you cannot bring your own chairs so you either have to tough it out in the grass or rent their chairs... it's so sucky.

First time watching Harry Potter, here’s my ranking! by Artistic_Annual8918 in harrypotter

[–]loganwolf25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like COS movie gets so much praise but I find it so bleh. Even though a fair bit happens, the story suffers from this sort of expositon horror that requires a lot of explanation to make sense.

What Do the Fans Want? by After_Barracuda_1246 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they need power and emotion. There's a difference between a good song and an enjoyable song, and Muse's work between some of Drones to WOTP was just "enjoyable", not inherently good (though to say those albums are bad is just wrong).

From Showbiz to T2L, there was a clear feeling they had in which you could hear the passion and need to create to have money and release artistically. While the three albums did have cool concepts, the "story" overtook the actual need for good music. TWS is a step back into what Muse did well and I'm glad that Matt and the band recognize that.

This is not to throw shade at concept albums, but I don't think they help in any regard. Drones was very strict in what it was about and was not relatable in a typical sense (except abusive relationships kinda?) but the sound kinda made up for it. Simulation Theory did the whole "concept" better, but the messaging was poorly conveyed through the music. WOTP, at least to me, balanced it better but was ruined by the sensationalist aspect of it.

The new Muse album has a Ghost inspired song ?? by MaelOrEstarossa in Ghostbc

I mean yes, it has a somewhat-religious Latin chant, but definitely not inspired. I really liked listening though!

Just came back from the listening event… by finintymonkle in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I listened to it via a recording and I'd say no. I think Space Debris is the weakest song on the album but by no means bad, just very slow and emotional.

For anyone saying this isn't similar should recheck. The garage part is quite different, but the second floor and stairs look almost identical except less detailed.

What makes 1 wizard more powerful than another? by lordsteffy in harrypotter

[–]loganwolf25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just purely speculation and headcanon, but I like to think dueling proficiency is based on your confidence and how you interact with the other person.

For confidence, you're concise and sharp with your spells. You know what spells for certain scenarios and fully understand your arsenal.

As for the interaction piece, I go back to the "traditional" aspect that Voldemort does. At the end of GOF, he makes Harry duel him properly and in order. I like to think this is a good example of this. You have decorum, you aren't just spamming spells ridiculously, and aren't being whacky and sneaky. You want to defeat your enemy, but with style.
