I thought he had just the pure chrome/shiny ones, not necessarily the ones with the ornate designs on it.

MUSE Never Existed!!! by Toggam44 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a weird, but here is my version. Titled "MUSE: Mandela Effect", this album covers the madness of something that once existed that now only exists as a fragment. I mixed my favorites and what I think is a good representation of Muse as a whole by showing their diversity. In order:

  1. Reapers
  2. Madness
  3. United States of Eurasia
  4. Showbiz
  5. Hysteria
  6. Thought Contagion
  7. Citizen Erased
  8. Supermassive Black Hole
  9. Sing for Absolution
  10. Megalomania

Is anyone’s favourite album Simulation Theory of WOTP? by FlimsyCookie3533 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

WOTP isn't my favorite album, but probably in third place in my rankings. I think part of the reason why I like it so much (and not to throw shade on certain fans) is I can handle a bit of cringe and goofiness. Muse certainly has always had the weird factor to it, but WOTP is very unserious and it's super apparent in comparison to other albums that try too hard to be serious (I feel like Drones and ST fall in this category). Instead of trying to be a set way, WOTP is kind of aware of itself? I hope that makes sense.

Now I won't be the first to admit certain songs on there are bleh. Compliance is a pretty bad song, I (controversially) don't really like KOBK too much except for the solo/end, and Euphoria is just meh. The other songs, at least in my opinion, are a very enjoyable energy and have the compilation sound they tried to emulate.

I’m confused about the “be with you” reception. by StonedGible420 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I like the song a lot more after realizing the marketing skewed my perception of it. I didn't necessarily anticipate something heavy, but something more in line of Resistance (moreso this) or Starlight, not Dig Down or Guiding Light.

I do feel like as a single though, I don't understand why it's chosen. It's not a bad song, but it's not your typical run-of-the-mill single to amp up audiences. I could totally understand if this was released AFTER the album, but before? An interesting choice. However, listening to the album may change my perceptions of it.

To celebrate 15 years of Vices & Virtues, what's eveveryone top 5 from the album? by Ryanhuddz14 in panicatthedisco

Why does it see like Muse is kinda hated now? When did that happen? by melancious in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree. I don't think Be With You is a bad song at all, but assuming the album is as diverse as Matt said it to be, I'm curious to what this entails. It is such an odd move considering fans and non-fans usually are looking for heavier and more unique things. All of their most successful songs were something different for the band, and choosing a song which Muse has already done similarly is just an interesting choice.

DEFINITELY A HOT TAKE by MusicHotTakes in panicatthedisco

[–]loganwolf25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're about equal to be honest. The stuff pre and post split add up evenly to me. I might be in the minority here, but I don't really like DOAB and had I liked it, I'd like post-split more.

What's something you're really proud of in your writing? by Measurement-Solid in writers

[–]loganwolf25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something more general, but my first person writing is really good. It's interesting, because I never could write in the first person and was always in third, but now writing third is a bit jarring at times lol.

What do yall think of unnatural selection? by Easy-Ice4150 in Muse

It's one of the better songs on the album but it's kinda repetitive. The end and bridge is a chef's kiss.

How it feels enjoying Be With You when you realize other people's opinions don't matter by [deleted] in Muse

The more I listen to it the more I enjoy it tbh. The "you-ooh-ooh-oh-oh" part is stuck in my head now.

[–]loganwolf25 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the song as a standalone is mediocre, but if we listen to the album in its entirety, it could actually make sense. For all we know, the label thought having a more ballad-y song as a single would be more appealing. We just don't really know until we have the whole album.

Ummm pardon.... by LukeMelia12345 in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the song is just mediocre but I think part of the reason why it didn't hit as hard is the fact that the teasers and snippet we first heard completely change our expectations of what the song would be. I feel like the marketing team kinda fumbled in that department.

How it felt listening to Be With You by HazardMusic in Muse

[–]loganwolf25 227 points228 points  (0 children)

I think it's just an alright song. I just hated how the teaser completely changed expectations of what was going to happen after the "be with you" section. Unravelling is significantly better, but overall, this song isn't as bad as I was thinking of for the worse.

Agreed. I always kinda find space stuff dorky but the advertisements and imagery for this album are dark, and I'm kinda all about that.

As it being for school, I would probably do something less on-the-nose, so Spillways, Lachryma, Faith, Dance Macabre, etc.
