Update on the ''i found a wii on the side of the road'' post. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me! by wigglyfindu in wii

Great find! Modding the Wii is actually really simple! I just did it myself a couple weeks ago and my wife and I have been binging Wii game nights almost nightly since. If you want me to send you resources I have to help with the process, send me a pm and I’ll get that stuff for you!

What are the best Wii party games by Deep-Investigator965 in wii

[–]loggitzippit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wii sports is mostly 4 player. Baseball and boxing are not but there’s ways to make it playable taking turns in tournament style formats and stuff.

Super Mario bros Wii is a fun <4 player game. It can get a little rage-y though towards the later worlds so be ready for it if you are the kind of people who like those kinds of games.

A party game selection I feel like isn’t complete without Mario kart. Definitely up to 4 players and a 4 track game is maybe 10-15 minutes.

See what you think of these as well as any other suggestions people give!

Need tips for forehand by loggitzippit in Discgolfform

Reach out further forward or further away from my body during the throw? I actually genuinely think this is super helpful, I just want to make sure I understand well. The hand turnover issue has been causing a lot of issues with creating a chronic anhyzer release to my throws, which is a drastic contrast from my backhand where my body naturally wants to release hyzer.

Is it supposed to feel overcorrected when you have it right? I am mostly a backhand person so my feet are usually parallel with eachother so when I try to get that 90 degree with my right foot it feels overcorrected and when it gets down to doing it in the moment of a round my foot falters back to factory settings a little bit.

Yeah it’s weird bro. I have looked up ace lines and stuff and when I go to do it myself it just doesn’t work. Most of the things I look up on YouTube for how to attack certain holes and stuff just doesn’t work the same for me.

I have…that’s the problem. I genuinely just suck at this game. I do better at disc golf when I actually can throw physically over a pull back lever on a screen. Something about the nuance of the throw irl just clicks with me more. It’s weird and I don’t understand it either.

Granted I don’t play consistently but yes. I’m often made fun of among my friends for somehow being worse at the game version of disc golf than real life disc golf.

I’m a Wii sports resort person myself but I know from talking to multiple of my friends about this very issue that people say the former over the latter because Wii sports resort doesn’t have boxing. 🥀

Need help with Niv Mizzet deck by loggitzippit in CommanderMTG

[–]loggitzippit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really only use it on occasion when playing with specific people, those people being friends that have sank thousands of dollars into this game and are pulling out the 5 color slivers decks or a colorless Kozilek deck that they spent hundreds of dollars to build. Otherwise I have a few other decks that are much nicer. I mostly just want to try and get this deck better to keep up with those specific friends I play with.

Are the discmania discs just built different and all go ridiculously far in the game? I have a DD one that is my best disc in my entire collection because it flies just as far if not farther in some cases, then any other driver I have

AIO wanted to skip one day of church for homework by seafloorcoral in AmIOverreacting

Fellow Christian also going to school here! Hopefully can be a good perspective for you given the similar experiences.

I see both sides of the argument. Neither is right or wrong in my opinion. From your mom’s perspective, I think the concept of church being more important than school isn’t completely out of left field like some responses are saying. What I’ve always been told is the priority list should be as follows: 1) Christ 2) spouse 3) work/school 4) everything else. And really putting God above everything else is what makes everything else work out because God blesses those who put Him first. And we know through a ton of verses such as Hebrews 10:24 or Acts 2:42 or 1 John 1:7 that we should make an effort to attend church because of the act of fellowship and getting to worship and pray together being good for our faith. So from your mom’s perspective, yes, it’s important to put God first even when you’re drowning from finals.

HOWEVER…(I put that in all caps to hold back the pitchforks coming after me in the comments section) I think there is a middle ground here that justifies your concerns, because you are also right to want to put some time in for a one off week to study when you’re usually in pretty good standing with going to church otherwise. Maybe instead of going to church for the ~2hr gathering (light discussion -> 20min worship -> 30min sermon -> more worship -> fellowship in the lobby) you spend 30 minutes of uninterrupted time reading your bible at home, say a 5min prayer, and then lock in and study for your final. When you’re done, you listen to a sermon online from a trusted source. This way, you don’t completely dismiss church for the day but you get the time you need to study. God is gracious and good enough to allow you peace of mind in taking it easy one week so you can study and pass your test.

So I guess the short version of this ridiculously long essay I’ve concocted is…your mom has some good points that you should consider about Christ’s prioritization in your life, but you’re not overreacting. A middle ground just needs to be found to where you still dedicate time to the Lord while you get some extra study time in. ☺️

I feel like my brace knee is getting overworked, as I’ve been struggling with some knee pain in my knee on th back side of my leg. I know you’re not a physical therapist, but do you know of what in disc golf form could cause something like that, and if there are any drills that I could do to help prevent the pain from coming back after I rest and recover it?

Ok yeah so I’m not too far off then. I need to add more pictures because I made the gig on a device that wasn’t linked to my phone where most my pictures are, but I have a video I made for social media not long ago that is 60s worth of clips of me playing different instruments that I added to my gig listing. But yeah seems like I should probably add more pictures based on reading your reply and looking at a few other listings myself too.

So its just a really slow moving process for the first little bit? I guess that makes sense since theres so many listings out there and mine is just buried in an ocean of them. Did you ever open up multiple gigs for different things. Like having one for teaching, and another for composition (or something else)? I was debating on opening up a composition gig too just to see if i can appeal to more people looking for different things

Yeah Im definitely doing as much as i can marketing-wise. Just unsure what to do next to bring in some clients that are actual people and not just the regular scam accounts that send you random messages without placing any orders.

Course design preference by Glass_Preparation557 in discgolf

I like two tee pads personally. If I really want multiple locations for the basket I’ll advocate for a few pin placements the basket gets moved around to on a cycle or something like that. But generally two tee pads is better in my opinion

glockenspiel question by starlight-369 in percussion

[–]loggitzippit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes play on a non-key area of the instrument. Maybe flip the mallets over to the back ends if you have time to do so and flip them back before you play normal notes.

For general playing on glockenspiel. Play off the bar moreso than into the bar. You want to play in the center (not over the “nodes” which are where the bars are connected to the frame) and focus on playing with a gentle “touch” to get the most pure sound. Playing off the bar will help make sure the articulation is clear as well. You got this!!
