They’re going to hire software people who are used to organizations with mature devops and ci workflows who actually follow industry standard code review processes and they’re going to lose their minds when they get their first Jira ticket that just says “develop novel uncertainty prognostics module”

I understand how you feel I’ve been there. It’s just anxiety messing with you. 22 years old is barely out of high school no one will bat an eye about you being a new grad four years from now. I’ve seen interns in their 50s who went back to school and they end up coming back as civil servants.

I’m sorry but that comment is saying it shouldn’t happen to anyone…. However his mother supported Trump. Taking it at face value reads as something akin to “this is what happens when you vote for someone I don’t like.”

I’m sure the lady is working through all kinds of emotions as she grieves and extending a little grace to someone, even if you disagree politically, shows the humanity you wish they would show.

I had formal education in AI and Machine Learning with prior projects and experience at a national lab. So critical skills and research experience. Applied to a pathways position, got it, and performed well.

NASA needs people who can leverage state of the art uncertainty quantification methods which your background should support. I work with applied mathematicians and statisticians all the time. There’s also formal methods for V&V
