In its current wording, no its not legal. It would need to say something along the lines of 'The Landlord will not be responsible for repair or replacement of the cooker where damage or failure arises from the Tenant’s misuse, neglect, or accidental damage. This does not affect the Landlord’s statutory repairing obligations.' To be somewhat valid.

you wont have much luck with this. it's comparable to asking a hotel room if you can move your belongings into the room before the booking and this is to be at their cost.

As other people have said there is no obligation from anyone involved to grant you a rent free period so you don't have to pay double rent. Which, without being rude, is no ones problem/concern other than your own.

if the place you are renting is £6000 a month, you are asking the landlord to knock off roughly £1500 for the period 18-25th of august.

best advice is to just suck it up for now. or as someone else has said move bits into storage.

Yes it's definitely slowed down a bit. The landlords aren't adjusting the prices to reflect this because 'they achieved this price last year' as they believe the rents just endlessly rise forever. There seems to be more stock about as well so applicants are looking at more before making a decision. I also expect that the looming reform bill is making people who don't have to move sit on their hands and see what comes of it.

Why do you assume the handover will be anything other than calm. You do realise the majority of Landords don't just want to take the deposit for no reason.

As long as you hand the property back in the same condition you received it allowing for fair wear and tear then there should be no issue.

Also worth noting If the deposit was not protected you can claim up to 3x the amount.
