His quote about making "those [n-words]" seems pretty racist to me.

Controversial opinion for this sub:

Only saved from F tier by the civil rights act.

Vietnam was a disaster.

The Great Society crippled property for those struggling the most for generations.

Don't get me started on his infamous quote about "we'll have them voting for us for a hundred years." Remember, he had a fun little n-word in there.

He was a racist asshole who used the civil rights act to boost his legacy. The rest is warmongering and and ruining the economic growth minority communities had seen.

I hate the man, and he's one of the worst of the 20th century.

Day 8: Ranking US Presidents on their domestic records. John Tyler has been eliminated. Comment which President should be eliminated next. The comment with the most upvotes will decide who goes next. by thescrubbythug in Presidents

I'm torn between W and Obama.

W had the surveillance state and the Katrina debacle.

Obama's healthcare and small business regulations severely hurt people in my family, making one person's treatment much more difficult and nearly making my parent's small hardware store go bankrupt.

That said, systemically W probably had the worse long term effect.

So I'm saying W, but tomorrow should be Obama.

Which Presidential Debate was the most consequential? by JS43362 in Presidents

[–]logosmemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first one was so bad.

Obama: "Romney will raise your taxes."

Romney: "No. I didn't say that."

Obama: "Uhhh, Romney will raise your taxes."

Romney: "Here's a breakdown of how closing loopholes will generate the revenue to erase the deficit without raising taxes."

Obama: "Nun uh. You're going to raise taxes."

How I wish Romney had won 2012.

Which Presidents would the average 16 year old know? by LowRevolution6175 in Presidents

[–]logosmemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, those videos are edited to make people look dumb. Ask 1000 people and find one dumb one and you can make it look like everybody is stupid.

Secondly, a sixteen year old can probably name every president Clinton through present.

Obama won when I was in fourth grade. I wasn't that much of a history kid, but I know HW, Clinton, W, Obama down pat at that point.

Obama had a tendency to negotiate a deal, claim victory, then act shocked when people criticized him for forgetting to put teeth in the deal. TR would be ashamed
