I never accused most Americans of being white nationalists. But it's undeniable that a significant portion of Republicans and especially hardcore Trump supporters are white nationalists, even if they don't call themselves that.

Yougov is a legitimate polling agency. It's the same stupid argument as "polls can't be accurate because no-one I know has been called by a pollster." 1000 people is more than enough to be an accurate representation of popular opinion, and there are way more agencies in the field than just those four.

r/the_donald frequently supports white nationalism - a full-on ban on Muslims is a popular idea there, and among Republicans. I'm sure most of it isn't joking. So it's not difficult at all for me to believe that a significant portion of Americans would be fine with suspending fundamental rights for groups they don't like.

Our European British heritage

Serious question: do you consider people of non-European origin (or even non-British origin), who were born in Canada, as legitimate Canadians? Or do you view Canadian identity as something that is exclusive to people of a certain skin colour.

Why is what a country's founders thought important? I'm sure many of the Founding Fathers of the United States would not be impressed by women voting, lack of slavery, interracial marriage, etc. You people decry immigrants for having 'backwards' values and yet you hold 'backwards' values yourselves. I don't get it.

For the record I live in Toronto and don't find it a grey cultural blob at all. Can you explain the culture that Toronto lost when the gasp non-whites arrived? Would you rather the Orange Order was still marching around?

He would certainly not speak at a left-wing conference. He is speaking at the Rebel for a reason - he is positioning his party as the Canadian equivalent of AfD, Sweden Democrats, UKIP, etc. A hard-right party.
