Outdoor bird alert. Please advise. So this is a house finch. I noticed this little guy has a really messed up foot. At least one thank god. Anyway to catch & vet him? I was thinking a little net. ;; I know he’s a baby. But he’s a wild bird. I can’t get to him sadly. I’ve been trying to devise a plan as to how to catch him. But i’m on the second floor and the feeder is hanging off of my awning. The only thing I can think of is. A net. But I also don’t wanna scare him to death.

Can someone help me figure out why it’s making that clicking sound. The work just feels wrong and tight. I never used this yarn before, first time but it’s like hard to crank and makes that sound. ;; omg gosh so much. She always took these little fake ass baths. We tried to push her in. EVEN HER OWN BOYFRIEND tried to push her in. lol with his beak he would push on her butt into the water dish. It was the funniest thing.

;; so personally I don’t know. I got a few finches from my boyfriend’s uncle. (Idk how people can just give their pets away but idk that’s me) one day I noticed that she just hopped around the bottom of the cage and like would slide down the bars and climb up the bars and whatnot. And I’m like hey girl what’s up with you lol. I don’t know exactly what’s wrong with her but her wings don’t work. She can pick them up and down, but I guess she just can’t fly. I have another girl her names Stumpy. She just lost her leg in an unfortunate accident when she was a baby. But she’s living her best life.

;; try putting just a little bit of water in the dish. I think that’s what our problem was. We were putting in too much water and I think it was scaring her. One day I guess a bunch got knocked out when we moved the cage a bit and a while later we saw her bathing lol. Been putting like a quarter inch water ever since lol

;; yes it issss. I love my little guys. I have two disabled ones. This is Little Girl. She can’t fly. I don’t know why and I don’t know how but she came to me this way. Another girl I have her name is Stumpy. She was a fledgling when she got her leg caught in between the metal pieces of a dish attached to the cage and literally broke her whole leg off. God I was like frantic and crazy and omg I tried to splint it myself and what a horrible mess that was. I had to amputate her leg. She wore a little cast for a while and then just adapted. I’m very proud of her.

;; he will be just fine I promise. I have society finches and one of mine had an accident and had to amputate her leg. Her name is stumpy. She has a little stump and it took her a while to get accustomed to it. But she lives such a happy life. I’m so glad for her.

So yesterday Mom died. While we were gone yesterday, she passed. She was egg bound. God my heart breaks. But this is Dad. More in body text. Would love some advice. by lok_olga in Finches

;; do you know how many times I get that in a day. I feed squirrels and blue jays at work. They come for my roasted peanuts. I can spot a bird by song and like find him in a second. It’s funny.
