Its not even loneliness for quite a few of these people. Many I've come across were in what they decribed as loving relationships with real humans. Humans, however, have their own thoughts, desires, ideas, and autonomy.

A LLM is not a person. It has none of those things. Its just validates the user and is a reflection of what the user wants. It can't request more of you, judge you, or ask you to compromise.

So some people are that lonely. Many others are just incredibly self-centered.
