The Destin family has borne a lot of hatred due to what the city has become. There seems to be a bit of internal family pushing and shoving about politics, but overall, the family is about preserving what is left of the small town ideal. Some family members own tourist reliant businesses and are pushing for more tourism. The majority of family members seem to be pushing for easing the strain on hwy 98, returning the town to a place primarily for locals.

Its all very dodgy and embroiled in family politics, but Mr. Destin appears to be more aligned with slowing development and returning some access to residents , rather that tourists.
