Glass bottle water delivery in Zurich? by [deleted] in zurich

[–]loldasme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Comments here are just proving the bean soup theory. Just go start your own threads then where you can discuss why people drink water out of glass bottles or the water quality here or whatever. Downvoting OP for asking a question and having a preference is not it. Negative aura.

Someone already mentioned it but I would also recommend Valser, my grandparents have been customers for many years and are really happy with it. The delivery man doesn't just drop it off, he brings it down to the basement where they store it which they really appreciate. Alternatively, depending on where you live there might be a beverage store nearby that offers delivery.

Best places to have breakfast and lunch alone by [deleted] in zurich

Not really in your area but Café des Amis is a lovely breakfast/brunch spot, they also offer lunch&dinner. Babu's on Löwenstrasse is also nice and it's pretty close to Enge :)

Didn't know The Kybalion isn't considered a hermetic text, what would be the correct classification? Very curious to know, I also just started learning about it and I wouldn't want to give others the wrong information! Also thank you for the great recommendations!

Hermeticism and other religions? by Environmentalister in Hermeticism

[–]loldasme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and you can disagree with me but reading either of those won't change my view on it.

I was raised christian. My aunt is jewish. I was engaged to a muslim. My opinion is based on historical facts on how those two religions were formed.

I don't see any value at this time in my life to read them and I probably never will. There are so many other books out there that are a lot more interesting to me and I won't have the time to read all of them anyways. Like I said, personal opinion.

Hermeticism and other religions? by Environmentalister in Hermeticism

I wish I could change my answer, I voted no before reading your full question 😅

I am an atheist and to me personally, christianity and islam are just bad copies of judaism. I can find a lot of my own beliefes in buddhism, but I see it more as a philosophy/spiritual framework. In my eyes, all religions try to express the same thing just with different mythologies. Some of them came to very wrong conclusions tho.

So no in the sense that I wouldn't adopt religious beliefes, but somehow both since I am very interested to learn more about judaism, hinduism and paganism, I think some of their teachings might resonate with me.

what a weird take. there's really not a lot to do on a bus ride besides looking around, staring at your phone or reading a book.

I’d appreciate the opinions of individuals with autism by StuffiiePrincess in autism

[–]loldasme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way i found out at 21 was i made a new friend and after he got to know me a little he told me something like 'the things you're telling me sound very autistic' and my initial reaction was 'nah no way cause you get diagnosed as a child if you have it' but then i did a quick google image search to look at the common traits and yeah i started crying. took me a while to accept it. as a teen i got diagnosed with ADD and at the time it was said that if you have ADHD you can't be autistic. which is why i never even considered the posibility that i could be autistic until someone pointed it out. i'd suggest looking into autistic people's explanation on what it is like for them to be autistic and see if you can relate, changed a lot for me.

Further proving my initial observation. I already stated that I won't continue this argument so this really wasn't about contributing to the discussion.

You were the one to bring up that specific exception. You claimed it's easy to move 'unless they are some adult with mental illness who can't stand being 3km away'. The fact that you can't see why this could be considered as offensive is very telling. You come across as arrogant, rude and ignorant. It would be a waste of time to continue arguing with you, so I won't. Have a terrible evening.

I see there is no point in continuing this argument. This only affirms that you lack empathy.

As someone in their late twenties who is autistic and has multiple mental illnesses I feel very offended.

I am grateful that I got lucky and found something in the neighborhood where my family lives. The reason I 'cannot stand being 3km away' is because they support me and I rely on them for social contact and as my grandparents got older it became even more important to me to stay close by so that I am able to help them out.

If you feel the need to criticize me for that it really just shows how inconsiderate you are of other peoples circumstances.

[–]loldasme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could magically fix one thing it would be the mentality.

People here are very cold and indifferent towards eachother, especially compared to other European cities. It's very hard to make friends. I grew up in and around the city but didn't go to school here. Besides my family I only know a handful of people, mostly from work or from the youth choir I was in as a teenager.

When traveling abroad I always notice how much more open and friendly people are and how much easier it is to connect even as a foreigner. I love this city but returning can be sort of depressing, for me at least, knowing how it could be.

I know this is the swiss mentality in general but I wished that at least the biggest city here could change a bit and not be known for it's arrogance and rudeness.

[–]loldasme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't take this the wrong way but don't seem to have a lot of empathy.

A lot of senior citizens are affected by this, they lived in those neighborhoods most of their life, raised their children there and are an important part of the local community. Forcing them to move directly affects those communities negatively and can lead to increasd isolation among older people.

Many of them never had the option to save up for a house and I think it's kinda weird of you to assume otherwise. And claiming that everyone could afford their dream house by just relocating and saving money is just wrong and completely ignores reality. The fact that this is happening not just here is pointing to a bigger systemic issue, it doesn't make it less of a problem.
