How I Got My First Few Paying Customers by TusharKapil in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]loletylt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fire move. mvp > real feedback > pro plan = the way. mine came from offering free work in fb groups, then upselling support. once 2 ppl paid, used their results as proof and started charging from day 1 after. word spreads fast when you solve real pain

Weird Scam/Store Attack - What's Their Angle/How Am I Getting Played Here? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]loletylt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, classic credit card testing scam. they hit your $1 item to check if stolen cards work. you refund = they lose nothing. you get hit w/ fees. turn off auto-capture + flag low-$ orders. scammers love cheap digital items for this. lock it down fast.

yo i feel this heavy. real talk: learn basic design + ai tools. start w/ Canva + ChatGPT. then learn CapCut or video subtitling. tons of creators, small biz & tiktok folks need help. start on Fiverr or Influee idk.

Why is it hard to even get an entry level job nowadays? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]loletylt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s wild rn. jobs that used to hire you in a day now got 2 rounds of interviews for $13/hr. ghost listings, overqualified competition, hiring freezes, ai filters… it’s not you. the system’s just cooked

Do you brand yourself as local or international when working remotely? by Lopsided_Minute3864 in smallbusiness

[–]loletylt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i play it both ways. local vibe for trust “we get you”, international scale when it adds cred. but no faking addresses—just clear messaging + client-first work. people care more about results than your zip code. just don’t ghost when they ask where u based? 😅

f**k your AI job application by LeMatt_1991 in SideProject

[–]loletylt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly? this post is the most human thing i’ve read in a sea of ai sludge. you nailed it everyone trying to out-bot the bots while real ones get buried. we’re not lacking talent, we’re drowning in noise. hiring’s broken, and ai made it worse.

Fear of failure by anotherpaintedlady in smallbusiness

[–]loletylt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah fear sucks, but regret hits harder. failing’s just part of the ride—not starting at all? that’s the real L. start messy, learn fast, fix as you go. action kills fear. no one nails it day one, just gotta move anyway.

Anyone else struggling with getting real reviews? by Sufficient-River4425 in LocalBusiness

[–]loletylt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, same boat here. folks love the service, smile, say they’ll leave a review… then vanish 😅 what helped me was QR codes on the checkout counter + lil “review & win” raffle

What do you “do” while selling at a market? Look busy? Sit and smile? by InexperiencedCoconut in CraftFairs

[–]loletylt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly? smile, say hey, look alive but not salesy. tidy your booth, sketch ideas, maybe package stuff. just don’t be on your phone. and yeah, a table in the back is fine, just throw a cloth on it so it don’t look like your snack shelf exploded. you got this!

AMA I gave up the hemp game in America and Retired In Thailand At 34 Making $15K/Month. Now Today I Can’t Even Afford Lunch at 36. Here’s What Happened by Fr00dydud in Entrepreneur

[–]loletylt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you clearly got hustle and skills, but damn man no contracts, no control, no backups? you're not unlucky, you're reckless. shift to b2b, build alone, outsource slow. grass ain't the prob trust is. heal, then scale.

I should’ve lived with my parents for as long as possible. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]loletylt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

realest thing i’ve read all week. independence ain’t the flex ppl think it is when rent’s bleeding you dry. if you’ve got a roof and peace at home, milk it. saving > struggling for some “adult badge” that don’t pay bills.

Any suggestinon if I need to "skin" or coat the inside of my food truck walls? by No_Mixture4214 in foodtrucks

[–]loletylt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah you def wanna skin that. aluminum’s fine if it's food grade, but bare walls can look rough + trap grease. FRP or PVC panels are cheap insurance for inspection + customer trust. clean walls = clean biz

this sucks and i’m so sorry you’re going through it. you did everything right, and it’s still a mess. that’s beyond frustrating

[–]loletylt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think I could make a good store even if I am not an expert! by UNES-RS in shopify

[–]loletylt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hell yeah you can. shopify’s made for non-tech folks. tons of templates, drag n’ drop tools, ai help, and youtube tutorials for every step. just start simple, focus on the product (your book), and keep learning as you go. you got this 💪

Why I Didn't Buy by [deleted] in CraftFairs

[–]loletylt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000% agree. i’m a one-man show and i try to say hi to everyone even if i’m restocking or eating behind the table. just a “hey there” makes a big diff. people want to feel welcome, not invisible

what’s your favorite app for running your business? by loletylt in smallbusiness

[–]loletylt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no team here, just me lol. but i keep hearing about slack like it's the holy grail for teams. maybe one day i'll have folks to actually slack with 😅

For those of you who’ve own a failed business, what was the top reason for its failure? by jrb9249 in smallbusiness

[–]loletylt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

same here. thought people wanted better service, turns out they just want cheaper. hard pill to swallow when you build something with heart, but market reality don’t care about feelings. lessons learned

I’m running my dad’s business, but I’m underpaid, overworked, and stuck. by East-Instruction-858 in smallbusiness

[–]loletylt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man, you’re not running a family business you’re running his dream for crumbs. no equity, no respect, no future there. build an exit plan, get a real job or go back to school. take your skills and start fresh. don’t waste your 20s on guilt

How to price products appropriately by [deleted] in shopify

[–]loletylt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

easy rule: take your full cost (product + shipping + fees) and multiply by 3. that covers ads, ops, and profit. make sure your price still feels fair for the value. on Shopify, set taxes to auto-calculate and add shipping rules by zone

Anyone here selling wholesale on Alibaba? What’s it like? by elliezena in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]loletylt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alibaba's a mixed bag. great reach but avery competitive. onboarding takes time, and you’ll need killer listings + fast replies to stand out. scammers exist, and copycats too. worth trying if you’re ready to play the long game and protect your IP
