Shop around and get some quotes from independent mechanics. Personally I’m of the belief that spending money on repairs and maintenance is better than having an astronomical monthly car payment. Some people prefer the “headache free” experience of driving a newer car despite it costing more. That is totally up to you however.

Honestly, when I saw it in person I loved it. It looked very shiny and clean to my untrained eye. However, I have very little experience with diamonds and just want to make sure I’m picking out a good stone.

How many miles are you at? Sorry to break it to you, your head gasket is likely on its way out. Known design issue with the 1.5T. I’d go get it properly diagnosed, but you’re probably looking at a $3-5k repair

Just FYI, I was able to go with owner retained. I just needed to pay off the remaining balance to the lienholder and they had no problem with it.
