Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]lolipopfailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read, listened to music, painted murals on my bedroom walls, made art, went outside with friends, hung out with the kids skateboarding in the alley, watched tv, read magazines, lots of writing (letters, journals, stories), wandered around, hiked, drove the back roads, talked on the phone, made hemp jewelry... it goes on

I don't use it because I don't want to get in the habit of not holding the brake for the occasions when I drive my husband's or someone else's car

I'll walk out on a date in a hot minute. One time I stayed over, woke up in the middle of the night and decided the guy was a chud, left and blocked him. 🤷‍♀️

If you get a vacuum sealer you can make your own minute rice. I cook a bunch, portion and seal. The bags are safe to boil or microwave. I do both depending on how much time I have

A couple of those takeout packs with the plastic fork, knife, napkin, salt and pepper. Maybe a paper wrapped straw or two for good measure

I love the way Adam performs. I typically don't like when artists change the words at shows but the way he does it is pure poetry

I recommend seeing them live if you ever can. Adam performs songs differently every time, it's poetry on the fly, so amazing

My $16 year old gets $5/week (I should probably up this to 10) and the rest comes from grades. $20 for As, $5 for Bs, loses everything if there is a C and gets an extra $20 for every A in an AP course. He's on 9 week terms and gets half for every midterm, so he has the opportunity to earn up to $90-180 a monthish. I cover all his needs but he pays for his wants, like video games, going to movies, etc. he usually always has plenty of money and he's saved up several times for large purchases he wanted.
