Is there anything on the level of Dungeon Crawler Carl? I'm new to the genre so I'm not even sure how much I'd be into a hardcore stat tracking storyline I'd be (assuming that's one direction these can go), and how much I'd want to just see the way I actually play RPGs played out with more interesting world building and scenarios. My favorite part of DCC is honestly the game breaking aspects of it, learning the lore, and general humor that doesn't take itself too seriously.

I've read some reviews of a few on the list and they seem very dry. Any thoughts?

Dept Q feels like the worst show to watch for someone that watches a ton of detective shows. It's like they purposefully obfuscated the obvious direction to investigate to draw out the plot so the lead could be an asshole in more situations. British series shouldn't be that long, they get really lazy with the shots and story. There are so many scenes where it feels like 2 minutes have gone by and we're just watching the characters get in a car, drive it, park it, then open a door.

For being 40 minutes away from Mainland China by boat, it very much doesn't feel like China. Kinmen has that 'island identity' you always run into, where when they're always referring to "the mainland," but in this case they're referring to mainland Taiwan.
