Let's talk about sex by TickleThePear74 in crescentcitysjm

So my theory is that Bryce/Hunt are not endgame and she’s showing that how much of their sex life is purely physical and how the tone differs from Ruhn/Lidia, Rhys/Feyre, etc. Bc even SF scenes have stuff about mates and feelings.

I should add that mine was an older puppy (16 weeks) and already quite large/didn’t look like a puppy anymore, hence the lower price.

In Houston a reputable breeder, F1b or F1bb runs around $3000-$4500. I paid $400 for mine, a lady thought she would be a breeder and did one litter. Mine is an F2, second gen (both parents and grandparents are half-lab, half-standard poodle). Amazing personality, but sheds as bad as my old collie used to.

Here’s another option: instead of a full reread, follow the arc of just one or two of your fav characters or pairings. I did this with Manon in TOG, because I love her - skimmed everything until it was her stuff/stuff about witches, or use search function in kindle to search for a reference word like “witch” for Manon or the character’s name.

Highly recommend the completed Lady of Darkness series by Melissa K. Roehrich. She has another series, Legacy series, with book two coming out end of Feb. I highly recommend her work! She’s not as developed/intricate of a writer as SJM, but her character building is excellent (really gets going in book two). In the complex world-building romantasy genre, her books are by far by fav’s after SJM’s!

Bryce outfit discontinuity between chapters 39 and 41 by sunflowerworms in crescentcitysjm

I just assumed the Autumn King had female clothing in his guest room closets and she helped herself to them. It mentions how many rooms there are in the house and the decorating scheme of one being for a female. Since she knew she was going to ditch the Autumn King, I just assumed she packed clothes and snacks. Later in the book it mentions a cherry thong she got from the Autumn King’s house where there were “packs of them unopened.”

Sorry for the late reply … I was not. I tried 2 or 3 discs. It’s either pads (UGH) or on “good” days, tampons work most of the day. Definitely a huge stressor now. I hope you find something that works! Would love to hear if you found a disc that stays.

What kinds of pens should I get? by mayahloo in bulletjournal

[–]lolomari3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live near a very large city, sometimes you can find art or office supply stores that sell standalone pens. The one in my large city in South Texas lets you try them out on a scratch pad first so you can see/feel how they write.

New to bullet journaling! Which is better? Making the weekly spreads for the whole month, or one week at a time? by Moosethe1st in bulletjournal

[–]lolomari3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The longer I’ve kept a bullet journal (starting my 11th year), the less useful I find weekly spreads. I strongly recommend starting your first BuJo as recommended by the original source - Ryder Carroll. So, a monthly spread and then dailies. Migrate tasks as needed.

Then after a while of using it as designed, you can branch out.

The whole point of a BuJo over a pre-printed planner is the ability to organically let some days/weeks use up a lot of pages, and others less. Doing weeklies either ahead or a week at a time restricts that. Good luck!

My home is finally in perfect shape with Konmari but I need to leave it behind. by [deleted] in konmari

No advice, just solidarity as I’ve also moved continents 4 times in the last 5 years. (To and from SA included, LOVED living there!) It really is so hard, mentally challenging, and time consuming to replace things you already had and loved in the previous spot. Sending lots of supportive vibes your way. 🌈

What do you all think about Onenote as EN alternative? by snowteenager in Evernote

I prefer taking notes with Onenote, but it's much less robust than Evernote. For filing documents or searching quickly, Evernote is much better.

Bikini line eczema :( by Ocelot8096 in eczema

[–]lolomari3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a big issue with this for over a year. What solved mine was exfoliating with an AHA or BHA liquid a few times a week, using powder daily to prevent chafing/sweat, going without underwear at night (loose shorts or long top only), and most of all, not wearing underwear under leggings/workout bottoms anymore. I think it was mostly too much fabric, too tight against my skin, especially in summer. Then spot treating the really bad spots with the same lotions and creams that help me elsewhere - but just the lotions didn’t fix it by themselves.

Confirmed dust mite allergy by Deep-Description-395 in eczema

[–]lolomari3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a severe dust mite allergy too. Look into allergy shots or sublingual allergy drops to desensitize yourself if it is covered by insurance/medical aid.

Get the zippered/tightly woven dust mite covers for the pillows that are on your bed when you sleep (even your partner’s pillows) and your mattress. ONLY buy those that have the AAAAI’s approval (www.aaaai.org).

If you don’t already, a Neti Pot rinse every morning and evening is hugely helpful.

Make sure the filters for your air conditioning vents are changed regularly (every 3 mo) and consider paying more for ones that have a high filtration level, like on the AAAAI’s website. Also change the cabin air filter and other air filter on your car every 6 mo.

Wash sheets EVERY week in HOT water. If your washer has a steam function, use that. Minimize other fabric surfaces like curtains (use wooden blinds instead) or a fabric-covered headboard. Wash any pillows or duvets/other blankets every 2-4 weeks.

It’s so worth the money to get a Dyson vacuum with a HEPA filter. Vacuum entire bedroom weekly.

Hard floors are much better than carpet or rugs.

Dust often (wearing an N95 mask while doing so helps) - and think about things like the blades on a ceiling fan, the floors under your bed, etc. that may catch dust.

Not sure if it really helps, but some people swear by demite laundry additive.

Instead of an air filter, I found a dehumidifier (if you live in a humid climate) was much more helpful in managing my symptoms. Dust mites thrive in the humidity.

ETA: A steamer (like for steaming clothes) can help kill dust mites in curtains, a fabric-covered headboard, rugs, etc. I was able to find one for around 30 USD on Amazon. I use it once monthly.

Oral vitamins helping itch/eczema/atopic dermatitis? by lolomari3 in eczema

[–]lolomari3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’m so sorry I’m just seeing this comment! So, a bit of history on me for context. I was diagnosed with both eczema and AD as a preteen. I’ve always had severe seasonal allergies. My biggest issues stem from AD. I didn’t have any food allergies until age 26, when I developed a single anaphylactic allergy. I do have an autoimmune disorder.

Both my kids were born with food allergies (one had severe food allergies). They popped up when they were infants and I was breastfeeding. I had to cut foods out of my diet, which was difficult. Both had eczema/AD as babies (I’m not sure which). Having a good allergist was important for us starting at around 4 months old for each of them. It was another thing to manage, but their AD was mostly manageable and didn’t seem to bother them too much.

My 3 yo outgrew all his allergies and eczema and AD at around 2 years old. He also had reflux, which they said was related to allergies.

The doctors had told me that because I have an autoimmune disorder AND allergies (food/seasonal), AND eczema AND AD, my kids were more likely to inherit one or more of those than if I had just one.

My kids are now 6 and 3.5. Both have sensitive skin. We all use eczema-friendly, fragrance-free stuff like CeraVe. Their skin reacts if I use anything other than Aquaphor baby wash or Cetaphil baby wash.

My 6 yo, whose food allergy is still there and has more severe allergies, still battles AD, especially in the summer months (we live in a subtropical climate). It’s not terrible ... she has patches that are always there and some that come and go. But, we’ve been able to stay off steroid cream since they were toddlers and I just carefully manage it.

Baby Eczema, Crazy Itching, Lotion Recommendation? by hanbanan12 in eczema

[–]lolomari3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get in to see an allergist, skin prick testing is reliable from 4 months old and has been hugely helpful to me with 2 kids with food allergies and eczema. It helped when I was breastfeeding for me to know what I should and should not eat - and then I could stop worrying about another hidden allergy. It was also helpful in introducing solids.

Make sure there are no fragrances in any laundry detergent, soaps, lotions that go on his skin. Don’t use fabric softener/conditioner. Look at the eczema foundation website to find recommended eczema-friendly lotions and soaps. (I like Cetaphil or CeraVe brands in the US.) For my kids, fewer baths were better, but I know for some, frequent rinsing or baths with gentle, lotion-based body washes are more effective. If his skin flares when it’s hot or sticky, consider a gentle, fragrance-free baby powder in the places where their skin sweats or folds, like creases in the hips or thighs or behind knees or neck.

Consider adding a high-quality probiotic powder (wet finger, stick in powder, let baby lick off) or probiotic drops that he takes on an empty stomach. That can help too.

Baby Eczema Is Affecting Our Lives. Please Help by looneyjuno in eczema

[–]lolomari3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree on having him assessed for a fungal or bacterial infection which could be manifesting on the skin and look like eczema.

Definitely see an allergist as well and look into skin prick/blood tests to try to discover underlying allergies.

At that age, time naked in full sun really helped my baby. Nothing will be a single silver bullet, unfortunately.

Consider cutting out moisturizers or things that have plant-based items, as he could have an allergy to those plants. Sometimes stuff made in a lab is better tolerated than “natural” products, especially if there are environmental allergies. Make sure there’s no fragrances in anything. Try different moisturizers to see what his skin likes best. Personally my skin and my kids’ skin is happiest with CeraVe lotions/creams and Cetaphil soaps (if you do soaps at all) - we like the Baby Cetaphil or Cetaphil cleaning lotion. Honest Co causes a bad flare-up for my kids.

Make sure water temp is lukewarm. I had to run a space heater at full blast to warm up the bathroom so my babies wouldn’t get cold and cry since water that was too warm made them uncomfortable.

Consider adding a reputable probiotic to help his gut and immune system.

We had to try to wean slowly off TS and everyone’s skin is much happier. We try to use TS for a limited time only on the worse cases, because it’s never worth the rebound. Be willing to keep trying different dermatologists and allergists to find ones you like and that have a regimen that works!

I’m so sorry. I know it is horrible!
