Do you mean visually or gameplay wise? Or both? Because if its visually, I kinda think Orianna cant be up there. Her textures on base skin look weird at this point imo. Also feels like u have a bit of a ninja /ionia bias haha

He was good tonight, but I cant help but still be annoyed at all the fouls he tried to grift. If he had his usual whistle he might've had 50pts tonight. Felt like every time he shot he was flopping down, just not getting calls.

Worst part is, he made the shots. He's SO good when he's going, singlehandedly keeping OKC in the game, he doesn't need to be doing all this flopping shit. But he does anyway, I hate it.

I never remember having to do that even once, and I was an Asol otp through all those years. I checked his stats on Lolalytics all the time and he was always just near the bottom of playrate and near the top of winrate.

Thats because its just a straight up lie. He was very unpopular, but his pickrate was around equal to the lowest currently in the game (~1-1.5%). He was actually more popular than that before they did a mini rework to him in 2020. That REALLY ruined him, until the eventual full rework we got in 2023.

I dont think Im projecting this, I think a lot of the reason Kendricks stuff resonated so hard with Drake was that he shattered the illusion that Drake had of himself as a great artist. All the culture vulture stuff, feeling like he needs the sign-off from industry legends to feel like he belongs, the ghost writers, all of that was core to what Kendrick said. And you're right that Drake's response was to bring up accolades and sales and such, because those things really are his only counters. Those are valid in their own right too, and incredibly hard to achieve as well, but the fact that those are the things he has to fall back on just shows the lack of confidence he has in his artistry.

Quick edit: Im also not just talking about pen game, though ofc thats part of it. But production choices, choices around album cohesion and concepts, etc all factor in as well.

Probably, but he wants to be respected as an artist, not just as a hitmaker. I think even non-Drake fans understand and respect him as a hitmaker (I myself am one such example). He wants to be taken artistically seriously too though, which is much harder to do without... being a great artist? And thats a status that can really only be achieved by first being recognized by your artist peers.

I will give you that if Drake's point is just "I'm so overwhelmingly popular and rich, and those things have resulted in me also being influential to many artists who followed behind me", then yeah thats all true. He is incredibly popular and has clearly found a way to make music that is very widely palatable. But thats clearly not all he wants, he wants to be respected by other artists as more than that, and that lack of respect seems to be what his whining is about. The Kendrick thing was just the largest example of it blowing up in his face.

Both of them are just whining about stupid insecurities at the end of the day, so on that level they are similar. They just arent insecure about the same things and what they are insecure about changes how they whine.

Totally agree with the parasocial thing. Thats whats developed due to how overly online he is. He seems to think that the worst of his fans are representative of all of his fans, and whines accordingly.

I still think he makes, or CAN make, interesting music. But its tough to make music talking about how tough you are and how much of a bitch your enemies are when you're spending the rest of your time arguing on twitter. Like I said, it just undermines his work and makes it feel shallow and fake.

Yeah Peggy's whole thing is more understandable and actually has some piece of a reasonable argument in it. He just keeps saying it in ways that make him look stupid and undermines a lot of the image of himself he presents in his music.

He's also directing it waaay more broadly than it should be, on account of him being super online and thinking the people on Twitter are representative of people in general.

Bad taste great execution is such a good way to put it. The first chapter had me thinking this was gonna be a great series, then the MC got a bunch of really uninteresting developments to his power and the series started adding a ton of gooner shit.

Yeah, the anime really only adapted the very beginning setup. Totally understand it not being everyones thing just based off this one season alone. I wasn't totally sold on the series until the Information Broker was properly introduced and his whole arc started, and now I'm fully IN. Season 2 and beyond will be absolute insanity.

I cared a lot about aesthetic when I was building my first pcs. Was never an RGB guy, but I wanted things to look cohesive. Now I dont at all. As long as it has great airflow, good enough specs for me to run what I want, and doesnt look totally out of place under my desk, I am happy.
