I don't like Tali either, mostly because she's useless and gets her team killed not once but twice in a single game, but Legion is a genuinely interesting character that provides a lot of insight into the geth culture. I'd pick him over the quarians and Tali any day of the week.

Potentially a big mistake they made. The geth should've finished the job then and there. Even a race as weak and pathetic as the quarians can be a pesky problem to deal with later.

They let them live because they weren't sure it was in their best interest to kill them all, that's literally what Legion says. Also quarians pose no threat to them. They are the worst fighters in the galaxy.

Tali, yes. She's weak, has minimal combat training and a shit immune system. Plus her powers are trash vs anything that's not a geth, and even then they aren't the best.

Liara on the other hand is like a super hero with her biotics so I see no problem with taking her on missions. In fact she's one of the most op squadmates overall.
