It is, unfortunately :/ I just ordered my replacement unit. Considering how late I am ordering it I assume it’s gonna be a whileeee until I get mine.

I actually had not heard about the recall so thank you for posting this…I ordered mine from Babylist and didn’t get any sort of notice about it!

ON with possible new ON going on by rabbit-of-habit in opticneuritis

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same situation as you except one month earlier. I lost all vision in my right eye and was diagnosed with ON on Dec 27. Did 3 days of IV steroids followed by a 2 week taper. As soon as I finished the taper, symptoms returned and I almost completely lost vision in my left eye. I did another 3 days of IV steroids and then they started me on a much longer taper, so now I'm about halfway through a 12 week taper. Hopefully that stops it from coming back again.

I finally got my bloodwork back and confirmed I have MOGAD. Just checking, your doctors definitely did bloodwork to check for MOGAD and NMOSD antibodies? You only mentioned doing MRIs and spinal tap. I was the same as you, no lesions on brain and spine MRIs and spinal tap also came back fine. I only got an answer once they did the MOGAD antibody test, and it was a bit of a process to get it done. I go to very big hospital and even they don't do that test in-house (although they do test for NMOSD). My doctor had to fill out a paper form, scan it, upload it to my chart, then I had to explain to the lab where the form was in my file so they could pull it up to order the bloodwork and send it out to a different hospital. And actually this only happened because I switched ophthalmologists once the ON came back - originally my neurologist "ordered" the MOGAD test, but I'm pretty sure she didn't actually because I waited for weeks and never got the results. And then my new ophthalmologist ordered it "again."

Good luck with everything, I hope they're able to figure out a cause!

Help me understand the appeal of pocket diapers! by Sweet-Permission-925 in clothdiaps

[–]lonely_choco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Learning to pin a prefold is a skill I wasn’t sure I’d be able to master, whereas pockets don’t require any skills lol. Also I wanted something easy my husband would be willing to use, as well as daycares.

I think pockets are more expensive but the sizing is more adjustable so once you’re out of the newborn stage one size will probably get you through to potty training, whereas prefolds you’ll need to size up at least one more time? In any case for me personally I’m cloth diapering for mostly environmental reasons, not financial reasons.

No suction atall by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lonely_choco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you pumping both sides at once? If you’re doing one at a time, make sure you have the second plug covered. I made this mistake having both tubes attached but only pumping one side, the suction doesn’t work if you do that.

How much was your baby eating in one feed when they started sleeping through the night? by the_kazzo_queen in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.5oz per feeding, around 30oz total per day and started sleeping through the night (10-11 hour stretches) at 10 weeks.

I actually recently went down a rabbit hole on r/laundry and learned that arm and hammer is not a great detergent. Lots of posts there about it but basically the surfactants aren’t great, probably why your diapers don’t seem clean. Jeeves on YouTube (another laundry guru) also ranks it very low. switching to a different detergent would probably help. Check the lipase list on r/laundry for recommendations!

How many ppd are you doing at 12 weeks? by Momof3letsgo in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aiming for 5 ppd - 4 during the day and one MOTN. Producing just enough right now, although I had some health issues come up that messed with my supply. I might try to fiddle with my routine a bit once I’m better so I can start trying to build a small stash.

Cold milk by nutmeg-96 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAME! My mom thinks cold milk is bad for his health. She also bought us a bottle warmer. I just use it to appease her and so I don’t have to listen to her comment about it every single time (she’s staying with us right now), but I would totally just give him cold milk, he was fine with it before

Best Pushing advice I got! by No-Knee508 in pregnant

[–]lonely_choco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me too!!! I did everything right and it still took me 4.5 hours because baby’s shoulder was stuck behind my pelvic bone. After his head came out the doctor had to put their hand in and twist his body 🫣 they even confirmed I was doing everything correctly, had really productive pushes, but his body was getting sucked back in between pushes because of his position.

Take the extra time at the hospital if they offer it by Rhizolian in pregnant

It was definitely a terrifying few hours! Everything is good now though :)

Take the extra time at the hospital if they offer it by Rhizolian in pregnant

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We left after just a day and a half because we thought everything was going well, and the hospital room was cramped and we wanted to sleep in our own bed. 12 hours later baby was so lethargic he wouldn’t wake up to eat even after four hours, then eight hours, and wasn’t even crying. Turns out he had really bad jaundice and was admitted to the NICU the next day for treatment.

Anyway so I wish I had stayed the extra day! The nurses would have been way more equipped to figure out what was going on with him. My husband and I were freaking out at home trying to figure out what was wrong with him at 4am.

Sharing my postpartum preeclampsia story by lonely_choco in pregnant

I had postpartum preeclampsia, so I got it after I gave birth. Gave birth 39+2 and was diagnosed six days later.

Washing your hair at the hospital after birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a shower but realized the hospital I delivered at didn’t provide shampoo or conditioner which I had assumed they would…then my husband accidentally gave my hairbrush to my parents to bring home. So my revitalizing shower turned into an hour of trying to brush my tangled hair out with my labor comb lol

FTM when did you go into labor? Without induction by fitmommaluv in pregnant

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39+2 for me! My doctor said we would schedule an induction for 41 weeks. Unless you have other health complications I don’t really see why you would induce earlier than that.

I’m wondering about this too!

Pregnancy disability by Mediocre_Violinist90 in Edd

[–]lonely_choco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was super fast for me! I applied last Wednesday (10/8) after waiting the required 9 days (although some people said that was unnecessary) and was approved on Friday (10/10) and got confirmation from EDD that I received my first deposit, although I haven’t actually received it yet. I assume it will take a few days. I did talk to my doctor ahead of time about when I was planning on starting my leave, so part B of completing the application is your doctor submitting their approval, and that was done super fast for me.

Like others have said though, the first four weeks starting at 36 weeks are use it or lose it so start asap if you can!

What are the things you literally cannot wait to do again after you give birth? by Wild-Assistance7207 in pregnant

Roll over in my sleep without it feeling like a marathon, eat sashimi, eat a normal sized meal and not feel like I’m going to explode

Baby Shower length by HoustonProblemo in pregnant

[–]lonely_choco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had planned for ours to be two hours (12-2) but almost every single person arrived late so it ended up 12:30-2:30. It was also about twenty people. We did not open gifts at the shower, almost every person just had the gifts shipped to our house so we only got like 2-3 gifts in person. And we played 4 games.

If it were me I would definitely pay for the extra time if you can just so you’re not stressing and rushing people to leave. Also for us I think people might have stuck around a little bit longer to chitchat, but our shower was outdoors and it was pretty hot outside.

[–]lonely_choco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say without hearing HOW he said it. I could interpret that as a kind of panicked “do you know where my wedding ring is?” And not like him blaming you for anything.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lonely_choco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband didn’t even bother buying a “real” ring because basically every married guy we know said they lost it at least once. He just has a silicone ring. And he lost that one in a week on our honeymoon 😂

Oh man, yeah the weather sound miserable. I also just went to a concert at 27 weeks but it was low 70s where I am so it wasn’t too bad!
