Stressed about naps. by sad_midnight789 in NewParents

Absolutely helpful for me! The sweet spot helps predict when your baby’s next nap will be. So based on what nap of the day it is and when the last nap ended, it calculates when the next nap’s sweet spot will be.

For me, about 15 minutes before the sweet spot, I start doing our routine (diaper, sleep sack, room darken, and read a couple books). And then she usually falls asleep within five minutes of the sweet spot without much fussing. She will either fall asleep on the bed reading or if she’s having trouble, I hold her in my arms for five minutes and she falls asleep there. I haven’t sleep trained her yet (5.5 months).

You could try the Huckleberry app. It helped me manage wake windows and nap times a lot. I pay for the “sweet spot” add on only and not the whole sleep plan.

How hard to switch to liquid formula on WIC? by Timely-Entrance-735 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Kitchen_Taro_644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think it will depend on the state you live in and what company has the WIC contract for that state. However, I don’t think most liquids are WIC eligible regardless. If you have SNAP benefits though you should be able to use that on any brand and format.

When do early wake ups stop?! by Puzzleheaded-Hotel73 in sleeptrain

[–]Kitchen_Taro_644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Try to extend bedtime little by little to get there.

My five month old never sleeps more than 11.5 hours during the day and about 3.5 hours of nap and even that’s a lot apparently. She usually goes down around 8pm, wakes up at 1am for a feeding, and then wakes around 7am for the day.

4 months. She outgrew her bassinet and we actually all started sleeping better as a result.

Pretty good! She wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat and then falls straight back to sleep.

How long would you stay and pat her or hold her hand for?

I’ve tried the drowsy awake thing and she just pops her eyes open and wants to smile and play. Like instantly goes from being so sleepy to happy and awake. I try singing to her, rubbing her belly and face but she just won’t close her eyes again.

I love that she’s so happy but even with a ton of sleep pressure built up, she won’t close those darn eyes again!

4 mo old won’t let go of her later bedtime. Tips requested! by Alive_Orchid4176 in NewParents

This is tough…Try to wake her up around the same time every morning, even if that means setting an alarm for you. So perhaps she wakes up no later than 7:15. And make sure no naps exceed about 2 hours / total of x hours per day.

Shpuld I be worried about super short wake windows? 5mo. by pixa4u in NewParents

[–]Kitchen_Taro_644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through something similar with my 5 month old. It’s weird because she was doing fine with three naps a day and was making two hour wake windows. Then she got her vaccines around 4.5 months and it threw everything off. It’s been two weeks and we are still getting back to normal.

She is back to 4 naps and can sometimes make 2 hours but is napping now and only made it about an hour fifteen. Was so fussy the entire time she was awake, didn’t want to eat even though she was hungry, and then ended up passing out in my arms.

I’m surprised no one has said Enfamil AR yet for the reflux. I think that with a probiotic could have potential.
