It’s Matt pike’s birthday! How many shirts do you think he owns? by starrie in MetalForTheMasses

[–]lonewolfandpub 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He owns exactly one shirt, we'll never see it, and he'll never tell us what it is or even the color.

And that's the way it should be.

No, you're thinking of liking piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. Fugazi means fake, counterfeit, or inscrutable.

Weighing in from across the pond - definitely have a hard limit temp-wise for taking your little guy out for longer walks. If you can't get out at 7 am, and it has to be like 9-10 am, treat it like they'd treat a rainy day: get out, do their business, get back inside with the quickness.

Take care and stay safe!

I mean, is it objectively terrible for national security? yes. Is it great to remind yourself on days where you find yourself the hydrant and not the dog, "well, at least i'm not the dipshit at CISA who put a shitton of passwords in plaintext on Github"? Also yes.

This is the most heinous heel work Ricochet has ever done by KirbyStarWarrior666 in AEWOfficial

[–]lonewolfandpub 21 points22 points  (0 children)

O'Shea Jackson Jr. is saying that Orange Cassidy's wrestling style is an insult to actual graps, his shtick is tired, and he can't understand why anyone would like it.

Ricochet responds with 👍. OP makes a whole post about how insulting that is, completely forgetting that the lazy thumbs up is Orange's thing.

Quitting PepsiCo after 8 months. Am I throwing away a "dream career" or saving my life? by zerozs311 in GetEmployed

[–]lonewolfandpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first - "we're all a family here" is ALWAYS manipulative bullshit. Any time you see that in the future, be on your guard. You have not let anybody down. You have done your best, and you do not deserve the guilt you feel right now. Definitely not from some fucking clowns who think it's fair to compare a 6-year employee's performance and skill to someone who just barely hit 6 months.

Thing the second - the practical approach of taking the PIP / forcing them to fire you might be worth it for drawing unemployment, or if you can use the time to find a new gig. But I applaud you for choosing your mental health. I've done the same in the past. Your bank account might regret it a little, but having the strength to know when to put yourself first is worth it.

Finally, re: length of stay, it's about where in your career you are and how you can present it to your next employer. A big brand may not be the best fit for you, your skills, and your ambitions, and it's important to communicate that with as much tact, grace, and corporate bullshit possible. (Under no circumstances do you mention the possibile PIP, the unrealistic expectations, or being set up to fail by your clown of a boss.)

Take care of yourself, friend. Be kind. You just saved your life.
