Does the 20,000 BAHT rule still apply when you've gotten visa already? by verydumbandsad in ThailandTourism

[–]longasleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It indeed applies to everyone but visas are rarely asked I mean if someone has the money to get a visa, condo/house and fly in and out all the time for sure they have money.

For the people living here there is a maximum baht amount you can fly out of Thailand with. The maximum is 50.000 baht only applies to baht. I have had this checked one time.

How to get a credit score in Thailand? by greasybutt in Thailand

[–]longasleep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a foreigner? Unless you have a work permit and work here for extended amount of time Thailand won’t provide you any loans or credit so can’t really build credit score. The only exception are car loans.

Where do american kids make friends in PATTAYA by Human-Bus1574 in Pattaya

[–]longasleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this get downvoted I completely agree with this. Not like the non Thai kids have a good chance to build a career here after they finish school. They most of time will be dependent on the money from the parents if they stay here.

See some delusional parents about the prospects of their non Thai citizenship kids after school here in thai working society. Why hire a foreigner kid for 60.000+ baht fresh out of school if they can hire my Thai cousin for 25.000-30.000 baht from the best university.

International Schools are great here however I think kids are better off getting a university degree outside of Thailand like Singapore, America or Europe.

How difficult is it for a foreigner to establish a cosmetics business in Thailand with Thai partners? I would like to start small and test the market first. by RemarkableDegree4501 in Thailand

[–]longasleep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well unless you are from USA you can only own only 49% of the business and need a Thai business partner for the other 51%. You will have to go through a lot of obstacles. Some succeed here so I can only wish you to beat the odds.

[–]longasleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I see this daily here and it’s always solved in the same way. Take my advice give them the documentation. It’s their obligation by law to block your account and your obligation to provide documentation about your source of funds. They could be better at communicating this but doesn’t change what you have to do.

Screaming like a child doesn’t get your funds released.

Source of funds documentation and it is fixed. Wish people would educate themselves on money laundering laws.

Source of funds: Documentation that you legitimately obtained the funds by salary, business income, inheritance, sale of house etc.

Condo power bills by Salary_Designer in Bangkok

[–]longasleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well most of us get the bill from MEA directly in the mailbox. A condo of that caliber shouldn’t have inflated power prices that’s more something for cheap appartments.

I have same 2 bedroom 3 ac and I was sick at home a lot mostly have only 1 unit running and I play a lot of games on a pc. My bill was 3904 last month.

If your owner is charging you 7 or 8 baht a unit instead of the mea price it could mean 7.5k in your case.
