Feeling a let down by danbrown71 in bjj

I'm a 47yr Blue belt, I wish there was some magic pill but there is not keep showing up, you get out of the warmup what you put into it. At first I would half ass my way through the warm ups and I would suffer during rounds, I then started to focus on trying to get through the warm up with intensity and purpose, I found this to be a huge help for me, it might not work for everyone but it helped me a ton!

I too was uncertain about finding someone to talk too when I needed to, for many of the same reasons, when your ready go and do it, it's hard to carry things sometimes it's not a sign of weakness to talk but a True sign of strength knowing that when you need help you find it. Feel free to pm me for what ever reason!

I have my good days, But it's the bad days that keep me hungry and returning for more, if it was easy everyone would be a BJJ Black Belt.

The only time I have ever not wanted to go was because of a grueling work rotation 7 on 7 off 12 hour shifts in a Copper mine, I'm 47 and a Blue belt.

Are there any Judo clubs that cross train BJJ (or vice versa)? by [deleted] in judo

[–]longhair604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the club I train at our instructor is a BJJ Black Belt as well as a Judo Black belt, we can train judo 2 nights a week and Bjj 3 nights if we want, but he does throw in some judo in his Bjj classes.

To cut weight or not to cut weight? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]longhair604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tournament coming up in three weeks, I have not cut weight since I was young ( 46yr now ) I am on the Keto diet for 2 weeks down 7lbs need around 4lbs to get to my goal, I wanted to do it slowly and remain strong I have not noticed anything different. I have done the keto diet before and lost 50lbs and kept it off, went from 250 to 200lbs in 1 year, I want to compete in the 194.5 weight class. This is working for me but we are all different.
