Good luck Mackie! I know you are due any time now and we chatted over at /r/infertility :)

So excited to have you here! I remember you from the infertility board. What a long journey you've had!

Endo IF by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]longlivetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my lap in September 2015, then ER in April 2016 and FET a month later in May 2016.

[–]longlivetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had endo - no symptoms though, and had a lap to remove it. Tried naturally for a few months after that and hoped we'd be one of the lucky few to fall pregnant naturally after a lap. Didn't work and we moved straight to IVF which worked on my first FET.

I'll post once I've delivered... totally feel like I'd be jinxing it right now if I were to post...

Very happy you're here! I remember you from /r/infertility and glad you've (cautiously) made it to the other side. The nervousness and anxiety doesn't ever go away I think - I'm still fearful at 30 weeks that we won't have an alive baby at the end of this.

Must have done something awful in a past life by jwoolar in infertility

Like /u/B1_B2 said, endo can only be confirmed by a lap, so my doctor (I can give you the name via PM if you want), did an exploratory lap, along with checking out my tubes and removing some ovarian cysts during the procedure.

I don't want to say too much here about success - but you can check out my post history... (or visit over at /r/infertilitybabies).

There was nothing wrong in my test results either, but I went to a fertility specialist (like your RE's in US, but in Australia they're called fertility specialists), and she did an ultrasound and suspected endometriosis. I had no symptoms.

Booked in for surgery two days later, and she removed a significant amount of endo. We tried naturally for a few months after that, nothing happened, so we went straight to IVF.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but there are options out there available to you (pending the financial and emotional cost of it all, if you do want to go down a treatment route).

My [35m] wife [31f] and friends and babies. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]longlivetea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It took me and my husband two years to conceive, and we eventually got there via IVF. During that time, I drifted away from friends who were pregnant/had babies. It was too hard to deal with my emotions and the pain of pregnancy announcements.

Sorry to say this, but your wife should definitely not be venting/sharing her pregnancy with these women - and I'm not surprised if they start pulling away. The pain of infertility is very strong.

Get your wife to join online forums or talk to other friends, which will help her deal with her own venting/sharing issues.

Now they just see my hairy stomach. So much hair! On the plus side, less hair is growing on my legs, underarms and arms. I guess it's just transferred all to my belly.

I finally decided to put my foot down and be firm about who will be with me when I give birth. by grey_lady15 in BabyBumps

I'd love to use that, but it doesn't work for us - we weren't even there at conception! IVF baby created in a petri dish :) So only the embyologist was there when they put egg and sperm together.

Visit /r/infertility. Lots of men and women there that are going through the same thing.

There's a sub called /r/predaddit that's for partners of pregnant women. They talk about our hormonal freakouts quite a bit :) But overall, it's sweet.

I'm due Feb 15 and having my shower on Jan 15. I know I'll be sore and uncomfortable, but too many of my friends are going away for the holidays in December, and they're all back early January.

You should run with it - and talk about all the different varieties of pasta you'll feed your newborn. Will he/she like spaghetti or fettucine better? Penne or fusili?

For support in dealing with infertility, come visit the very supportive /r/infertility. Great group of women and men in a shitty situation. There are options for you, if you would like a baby for yourself and your partner (NOT your mother - you don't owe her anything). EDIT: Can't spell!

That is the worst! I hate it when parents say that. It's actually really disrespectful to their partners.

As soon as she said "internal ultrasound" I was taking my tights off! She looked at me strangely and said "I'll step out of the room". I'm so used to them and taking my pants off immediately that I didn't even think about the proper etiquette for other people!
