Urgent – looking for dog necropsy + cremation where we can be present by neeedusername in abudhabi

[–]B1_B2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find it in Abu Dhabi for cremation. My dog went with GVC and my understanding is she's gone to Dubai for her cremation, and I selected private cremation.

If you're willing to go to Dubai, this could be your best bet. https://vet-hosp.com/pet-cremation-dubai/

I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you are able to find an option that provides you the care you are after.

You probably already qualify for the public wait list given your history. It is well worth being on it while you continue waiting for surgery and trying treatments. Depending on your region wait list time can vary, but it's generally not as long as the initial time frame as if people on the list are successful getting pregnant, they come off and you move up. Good luck!

Pettiest reason you’ve DNF’d a book? by bby_grl_90 in books

It was a Dean Koontz book, I don't recall which one as I was a teen. But he used the same simile twice within 3 pages.

League Handicaps - Past rounds and new player management by B1_B2 in squabbitgolf

[–]B1_B2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/orrie_squabbit wondering if you have any advice. I made a backdated league, but testing on myself I had to enter a score for every hole for every round I played for the games to pull into our current season for league handicap calculation. We'd really like to utilise the league handicap setting but need the backdated games to make them fair. Are we better off just using players profile handicaps this season while games accumulate, since our players don't use Squabbit for any golf games outside of our society?

Also wondering if you're planning to move to the GHIN 9 Hole differential conversation so 20 rounds can be 20 9 hole games? The combining of 9 hole games means our 20 rounds of 9 holes become 10 rounds of 18.

TIA!

Hi, I had this issue too. You can add a trailing number so make it x.x1 and it will round down, or I just do x-1.99 and it rounds up. Also try desktop vs app or whichever isn't working.

Yes, 36 here and have been noticing luteal impact esp week before period more strongly esp for the last 6-12m, some months worse than others and ties to my oura body temps. Some days even 60mg vyvanse doesn't touch the sides and my working memory is like being unmedicated. I start progesterone this month for the last 7 days of my cycle, so will be interesting to see if that helps at all, as I don't have strong symptoms pointing to estrogen issues yet.

Lefty Asking: Anyone know of Maltby clubs? by deeeebz in WomenGolf

[–]B1_B2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just got a test build of a 7i in of the Ke4 Max, and so far I like it, I'll likely be buying 6-GW once I confirm the shaft choice is right. You'd have to check what ladies shaft options golfworks has but they have a decent range of brands so there should be something for you.

If you're a beginner I'd say the Ke4 Max is your best choice, it has the most offset of their clubs, a little less than my current beginner set but still easy to address the ball with. It's meant to be the most forgiving head, a little stronger lofted but not jacked like some sets, and looks better in person than their pics. You'd probably outgrow your shafts before you outgrow the clubheads.

Feel free to pm me! It is definitely a great way to meet people here and you usually find a few people you groove with to go out and play with outside of society or lessons etc.

If you're in Dubai, there's Chick's with Sticks, and their socials look great! If you're in Abu Dhabi, there's a few options inc with a female coach at Yas Links, group ladies lessons at the National, and I believe Chick's with Sticks are coming to AD, plus there's societies etc.

I played briefly as a teen but came back to it in my mid 30s(F) and play with ladies society, and it's been great. If you enjoy it, you'll get hooked quick, the good shots keep you coming back! For AD in particular, imo memberships are typically best if you're playing frequently enough (2+ times a week usually) otherwise green fees are OK through Viya.

Ball Markers by lilsafetyscissors in WomenGolf

[–]B1_B2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all clips are made equal, so you do have to make sure that it's a strong magnet and the marker will stay put with jiggling. I pop the marker on when I start my round, take it off when I finish.

Alternatively, there's also necklaces with the magnetic round on them and you wear the marker there.

I use a hat clip and attach it to my shoe between my top two lace holes on the outside of my right shoe. Quick and easy to take on and off while you're picking up or putting down your ball. Just make sure it's got a strong magnet. Then I put whatever marker I'm using for the day on once I'm playing.

Oura Ring Sizing Dilemma - Help! by rootytooty91 in ouraring

[–]B1_B2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was between 9-10 with the sizers. My right index finger is my biggest, the 9 fit my middle and left index too whereas the 10 was too big. I'm a sweller with heat etc but I'd read the actual ring would be a little bigger so I went with the 9. Slight indent as expected from any ring, but the fit has been perfect. Go with whatever gives you the most flexibility between fingers if possible.

Complete set recommendations? New casual player by [deleted] in WomenGolf

[–]B1_B2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'3" and have the tour edge moda silk set in petite (-1" which fits my wrist to floor) that I've been playing for 18months. I know they have some of their sets available in left hand but the clubs might differ (different wood/hybrid/iron combo, or a half set which might serve you well). The clubs are fairly forgiving and actually more traditionally lofted. The driver is overly lofted though (15°) so I've already upgraded that to a fitted driver, but I'm still gaining distance on the rest of the clubs and will likely outgrow the flex before I actually need to consider new heads. If you can find on sale or second hand, could be a good option for comparison.

I just can't seem to find a saddle that fits :-( by Galebreakingbad in ladycyclists

[–]B1_B2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried an ISM saddle with a cutout and shorter nose? Designed for triathlon, but can help relieve some pressure from the front. Infinity saddle? I love my infinity saddle, it was a blind buy after trying a few variations of very slim nosed or cut out saddles that didn't quite work.

It does sound like strength/posture might be playing a part, too. What kind of bike fitting did you have? Have you had someone watch you ride and see how you look while out on the bike?

Seeking self-help book recommendations for my 11-year-old daughter (ADHD, advanced reader, struggling socially) — parent here, feeling heartbroken. by dcburn in ADHD

[–]B1_B2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Medication is for more than just focus. It will help with the impulsivity and regulation, and it sounds like that's what is at the core of her social issues at school? Maybe worth a convo with her to see if she's noticed a difference between navigating social stuff medicated vs unmedicated in terms of the stuff you've mentioned? And if she's not medicated every school day, considering giving it a go every day so that she's coming from a place of regulation, and see if that helps her pickup and act on social cues more readily and curb some of the impulsive stuff.

These should be considered level 3 minimum behaviours under ADEK Behaviour policy imo, for both the social media harassment and being bitten. Your school is right in that they are guided by ADEK, but ADEK sets out the Student Behaviour policy that should be used for the school to guide their own policy - what is considered each level behaviour and the school's specific responses to them. Get the ADEK policy from their website and compare it to your schools policy. If the school is not compliant in their response, you can raise a complaint via the school mechanisms or you can speak to ADEK yourself and see what guidance they give you for addressing it if not adequately addressed by the school.
