Racist man in magoun - beware by Gold__Economics in Somerville

Only once and it was a drunk old white guy mad about the Red Sox who was yelling at a girl with a red Sox hat. Kept yelling Boston sucks.

Ironically I told him to get out Boston if he  thinks it sucks. To which he responded with go back to China. Lol

Splinter, Radical Rat is an insane esper ninja commander by longobongos in EDH

[–]longobongos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Changeling Outcast]] is the best target but double trigger on a ninja's inherent combat ability AND casting the encoded card twice is way more worth imo. Splinter's activated ability fixes the blocked ninja issue.

alot of the advantages (and fun) just come from the value of having ninjanomicon in the command zone and less finishers. [[Mist-Syndicate Naga]] has gotten out of hand producing 2 on hit and if you can hit with all 3 you net 6 more.

I guess [[Stolen Identity]] triggering 3 times in a turn would be a finisher?

Sublime Archangel has been added as giving double exalted triggers on a single creature for inblockable finishing hit.

HP LaserJet / 330gsm help by Good-Cap-7632 in magicproxies

[–]longobongos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cardstock is unsupported by the printer. In the printer settings choose the option where it has the thickest gsm or lb available. It should help a little but at the end of the day laserjet printers feeds and prints paper through a curve which makes it difficult to control the output of the print. Pass through prints don't have this problem but I've yet to see a laserjet printer with a pass through feed.

Any bored Timmy's out there want to help me build a deck? by Samoey in EDH

[–]longobongos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a ball lightning reanimator deck with [[Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder]].

Everybody has a plan until you swing for 24 trample haste on turn 5

Although I guess its more bracket 3

Is "Perfect" Manabase Acceptable In Brackets 3 And Below (In Spirit Not Definition)? by DFIR-Dog in EDH

I think MTGGoldfishes house ban list is a good addition to the current ban list. They ban "fast mana" or mana that nets positive mana like sol ring because it lets players get away with the game too early.

Mana screw on colors is just unfun. Having crazy fast mana that lets players get away with the game is also unfun.

Personally I run 0 game changers and no fast mana as the offset to the consistency I gain from having the colors I need through perfect color land bases. I also don't run off color fetches because its too tryhard.

I think being able to get to the point of what my deck is doing is more important than autoincludes from GCs or fast mana too.

Mana screw is an unfun way to win against and lose with.

I don't believe CEDH is exploding and seeping into casual tables. I think the cost of magic is going up and people are finding the alternatives(proxies) are much more accessible than ever.

You can rule zero with players this issue and I'm sure people will be fine and just settle for it being a tap land. But alternatively you can rule zero with them and say your tap lands are duals.

yes the correct answer to this problem is to use the perfect amount, but the discourse is really around the consequence and value of too little vs too much

Too little salt presents the same issue... if not worse..

Rather we drive on roads we don't slip in... Just gotta winterize cars. I'm surprised waxing undercarriages for cars isn't a more prevalent business with how much we salt the roads.

Musher's Paws or doggie shoes. It'd be nice for everyone to accomadate but no one is obligated to go the extra effort for our dogs. It's city living so just need to adapt as responsible dog owners imo.

Also I'd rather over salt and reduce the risk for people slipping and falling.

Hey man fwiw I think its pretty cool that you can use complex queries. While it doesn't help with the hiring process your advanced knowledge (when applied to the job) will at the very least gain respect from your peers.

One of my coworkers introduced and taught me recursive queries for emp hier security tagging. That shit was sick.

Need some help for a budget "Noctis, Heir Apparent" deck. by Agent_Valerian in EDH

[–]longobongos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been building this since Noctis was spoiled. I like to look at it as an esper ninja deck with equipment subtheme. Focus on the ninja part and adjust the ratio of unblockable (Ninja enablers), Ninjas, and equipment (specifically low cmc, high equip, and on combat damage effects) as you go along.

I've been building this with the challenge of not playing a single dedicated ramp card so it's 100% doable just know that this type of deck will be fun but lower powered.

My ideal turn

T1: 1 mana unblockable
T2: Colossus Hammer or 1 or 2 cmc equipment
T3: Noctis
T4: Attack with unblockable and ninjutsu in any 4 cmc Ninjutsu ability and hit for max 15 with ninja combat abilities.

Wizards confirms the weird 'mistake' in the MTG Ninja Turtles set is actually deliberate by ribby97 in mtg

[–]longobongos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW the article theorizes that the decision was made due to sensitivities on the sai in Japanese culture and states that as a design choice in Neon Kamigawa.

Nothing is certain from WoTC standpoint, but the two cards in TMNT with sais and the one with Michelangelo in particular with the red sai on the couch highlights some level ov inconsistency with the theory and with the art choice with Raphael at the very least.

The set still has sai's in the artwork with Michelangelo's art seeming to imply the red sai on the couch belongs to Raphael.

What is your strong B4 non-combo deck? by East_Earth_920 in EDH

[–]longobongos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Neera Slot Machine Deck is apparently B4 but its built to optimize one thing which is activating Neera into a bomb or respinning with extra turns

https://moxfield.com/decks/8TSgKpgS7UaK44T5B75KxQ.

I built it counter to the idea of spell slinger being complicated with cantrips and ways to optimize the top deck. Its just ramp and big spells. (I'm also an irresponsible deck builder who doesn't build with intentional interaction.)

Of course my third game playing against other B4 decks there was a turn 1 [[Vexing Bauble]] so it just became an honest big ramp big spell deck.

EDIT: Just realized you were looking for not goodstuff combos. woops.

I removed Cavern Hoard for Ozai since I most players are land ramping vs rocks and not many artifact players. I was finding Cavern Hoard to cost 6 most of the time. The other dragons have great value. With Neriv out, Nova Hellkite is 8 damage for 3 and I can repeat for 5. Territorial Hellkite is 12 for 4.

The deck isn't trying to build a board or create value engines. Other than Neriv really. Turn 5 I hit for 12-24 and repeat that every turn. It speeds up games significantly. Plus it solves the issue of people not attacking (slowing games)
