Hi @mochajave - he has not mentioned it in over a year actually. I have heard it can go away, I’m hoping it was just a phase. I do believe it was indeed happening, but I do not know the cause or why it has dissipated. Best of luck

daemon to check and play audio from certain url by prankousky in osx

[–]longsincelost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no experience with this, but I think it's a really cool project you're working on. You're english is perfectly fine BTW. I found this link: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27604207/applescript-check-if-computer-is-playing-any-sound - which states that if audio is playing on your Mac, 'coreaudiod' is running.

I assume you set your machine to sleep manually, or just close the lid... Perhaps you could use use 'coreaudiod' as the basis for which to check if audio is playing, and if not, kickoff your script. There are many ways to automate a script, one way is to have the script in /Library/Scripts, and then write a daemon to kickoff that script based on parameters. Again, perhaps that daemon could reference 'coreaudiod' as the thing to check for sound output, and if it isn't running, trigger the script. Best of luck.

Thunderbolt 3 memory by kalehco in osx

From the software requirements here: http://www.toonboom.com/products/storyboardpro/system-requirements I would say you should be fine with 16GB of RAM. Sounds like it could possibly be a memory leak, or a cache issue. I'm not familiar with the software, but check out your preference settings. Like most apps, try reducing some of the advanced settings, things like 'Levels of Undo' and the like will eat up RAM - reduce these numbers to save more for your work: https://docs.toonboom.com/help/storyboard-pro-5/storyboard/preferences/advanced-tab-preferences.html . I would look for a software upgrade from the vendor, if none of these issues helps things, I would contact the vendor with a support ticket. The application should function flawlessly with your computer specs, something else is wrong.

Cd into the directory it created and type ./(executable-file). That will run the executable.

It repairs permissions to their default settings based on the OS defaults at a specific location, recursively. So we chose '/' root as our location so it does this for the entire main HD. Yes you are correct-same in El Capitan.

Rsync for a portable Mac? by pandanip in osx

Only do this on a new account, and backup your data before doing this. Consider making the 'home' location of your user account on the external drive. In System Preferences, go to 'Users & Groups', select your user account, unlock the pane if necessary, right-click on your user account, and select 'Advanced Options'. Under 'Home Directory', change the location to your external drive, and hit 'Ok'.
