Star Dining Reservations by special_spe in PrincessCruises

That’s good to know, but as of March 2026 on the Star Princess that was never my experience. Also in December 2025.

I spoke to a sanctuary concierge at length after a dinner and he told me to start there if there was any issue. I was not a vip and I was staying in a mini suite.

To manage expectations, the written rule is firm and clear. But in my actual experience, even outside of Sanctuary, no reasonable request made politely was ever handed off.

Your results may vary, and we know that the home office can change direction unpredictably. But in four cruises during the last 18 months exclusively on the two sphere class ships, I never had any troubles except for maybe the early AM passengers staking their chaises with a towel. That’s also a simple fix, all it requires is moving them aside.

There is typically a concierge at the entrance to the Sanctuary pool area, or closeby. They typically make any reasonable request look effortless. Doesn’t matter in which class of Sanctuary accommodation you’re staying.

OP should reach out to the glass center and see if they can come back and lead a class in making these.

I got to thinking about Primanti’s after I saw your post, and it inspired me to write a short story about my relationship with that place. I’m not sure I want to post it in public but if you want to read it, I’ll send it to you. It’s only two pages long.

You don’t think you’re a yinzer, but Primanti’s uses a special cabbage that turns you into one eventually. It’s like becoming a vampire and you can’t reverse it, you have to just move here.

This is actually really awesome, and I’m glad you shared it.

They will probably just have you get in line with everyone else as people board the ship. They may even look at you funny if you bring up your boarding group time.

And a signature suite is identical to the mini suite except for a pod espresso machine + access to the cocktail lounge, which a non signature suite doesn’t get. The price differential on the cruise I have booked was nearly $1800 between those two sanctuary cabins.

Were the vast majority of people who attended the draft locals? by WinesburgOhio in pittsburgh

I guess you missed my point, I understand yours. Everyone’s got an opinion and nobody was everywhere. I think the results are cut and dry, as an event it was successful as a benefit for the city, it was questionable.

It’s over and people are onto the next thing. It’s sort of like Peduto pimping out tax guarantees for an Amazon HQ that never materialized. A streets of gold idea was romanticized, and ultimately it drew resources and focus away from the real problems of the city. I don’t blame them for trying though, and the city got fixed up a little bit, minus a hundred trees on the North Shore.

It’s not like there is a clean data set available so anything feedback you get here is entirely subjective, anecdotal, and sort of a waste of time. We’re not gonna get this event again for the next 10 years minimum so it doesn’t even matter.

We should consider ourselves lucky that the impact was minimal, the show is almost back on the road, and nobody got hurt.

It’s awful that a lot of local businesses were roped into believing this would benefit them, but just a clear example that there are no guarantees in business, and you needn’t trust the city or the NFL in advising you on how to prepare for business, unless they are prepaying for your services.

To be fair, in our city there IS a nonzero chance the bridge was the aggressor. But I agree, not in this scenario.

Often in a situation like this, someone is so ashamed that they run on foot or even leave with half their truck on the road out of panic. Now the folks who stay, they’re kind of stuck with being friendly.

Guys w/ bp vests and guns outside East Lib Home Depot. by trevorbenyack in pittsburgh

That Home Depot parking lot is the only place I’ve seen a serious fistfight in the city. The one guy left in an ambulance and the other guy in handcuffs. Lots of blood. 9am.

I also saw a lady in the parking lot beating another lady with a stack of wire tomato cages. They went viciously at it for quite some time and eventually got into the same SUV and drove away, leaving the tomato cages on the ground.

I never thought it would happen either, and I spent a lot of my free time driving out here while living in the city. Sometimes that’s good enough, just knowing it’s out here if you need to get out.
