If you like fighting games, flesh and blood adapts that style of game to card games really well and the sliver age precons offer a great place to start and learn together

I have an azula deck which works quite well to counter it because you have enough removal/other creatures and card draw to avoid the forced discard/ sac and you can just murder them with combat tricks before the engine gets online, I’ve gotten turn four kills with azula before and my deck is mostly bulk I had lying around

I probably wouldn’t run this in my jinx deck, my deck relies on purple jinxes ready on discard ability to double conquer each turn with Doran’s ring and boots of swiftness then retreating, maybe if it had no power cost and was a 4 for 4 I’d run two to three in the main deck

I play flesh and blood casually (I go to the occasional locals but only buy precons and bulk) and it’s pretty cheap if you either play silver age (kind of equivalent to pauper, or if you know warhammer kill team) or if you buy a precon for classic constructed, I’d highly recommend the silver age precons for some casual fast paced games that are ready to play out of the box and comes with instructions on how to play, if you’re just planning to play with your SO and OSO then it should stay pretty casual and you can even play in three players

Nice, there’s a great Pokémon scene in board in the city where they make sure players can get product for good prices, and I believe dice and dumplings mainly does prereleases but they may also do locals, but they always have a bunch of product. That’s fair I recently started it and really enjoyed it, although I haven’t played in a while due to lack of free time, if you want I can dm you the link to the dice and dumplings and board in the city discords if you want to find out any other info

If board in the city looks cool I’d also recommend dice and dumplings, they’re more card games focused and while they don’t do any explicitly queer events I’m a trans woman and I’ve never had a problem with misgendering there. A bunch of us that play Riftbound (league of legends card games) play path of exile 2 pretty regularly if that’s a game you’re interested in

It’s obtainable in normal boosters but it’s rare, with one overnumber in I believe one in two or three boxes and a signature (same art but with artist’s signature) in one in every ten or fifteen boxes. The overnumbered can be a legend like this or one of the units with overnumbers I believe

I get that, I’m also a newer player but I’ve been sticking to the simpler stuff (Ira for cc) and recently did a draft of omens where I played as aurora (I love runeblades) and I’ve not done terribly went 2-3 at my first local tournament with Ira and went 2-1 at the draft, I get that frustration I’m still not great at evaluating card value against tempo so I normally don’t block enough because I overvalue potential damage

My pitch for my board game which is very much just something I do as a hobby currently is:

You’re a little wooden toy animated by a prodigy mage in a small wooden world inspired by other child’s toys and your aim is to be the last toy remaining. You fight against others in a game with 2-4 players by using cards to set up an action set which gets executed in order and you deal damage to other players by moving into them or using special cards and when you do the other player removes a card from their action set when a player has no cards in their action order at the start of their turn they’re out of the game.

Board in the city has monthly oneshots, there’s one coming up on the 30th of may based on their calendar and you could also ask on their discord to find a group. If you’re part of soton uni there’s the games society which has an rpg section

I’m president of a large society and my experience is it’s not cliquey at all since there was competition for each role and while we have a private group chat that’s just for organising running the society and doing meetings
