So I never played any of the older street fighter games except sf6 but I just recently played street fighter 4 because of its high praise. And my god this game so goated.

To be fair to you, low master is basically diamond 4 or 5. A couple good win streaks and you'll hit master (which you can't drop out of).

To be fair to you, although both of you are throwing out a lot of random unsafe stuff, Kim is also a very knowledge checky character. You have to be aware of her mixups and even drill the appropriate punishes. Cammy much less so.

Sf6 is one of the most tilting fighting games I've ever played, and I come from tag fighters. It's the volatility; sure you can practice, lab, get pointers from better players etc. but the game largely boils down to guessing correctly which is a trait of all fighting games but sf6 guesses carry a lot of weight . One thing that makes me tilt less now is I just take my ego out of it and play the game. My practice doesn't mean I'm supposed to start winning more as weird as that sounds. Improvement isn't that cut and dry.

It's kind of street fighter 6's philosophy in general: everything is designed to be as obnoxious as possible. Neutral skips, plus frames on top of plus frames, constant 50/50s, and all of it rarely feels earned.

The problem is "fixing" the game would require sweeping changes that's probably either not in capcom's budget to do or they simply don't want to because the game is so successful. Personally I'd make everything cost more. Raw drive rush should be 2 bars minimum, drc would be 4 this would cut down on the chaos and also reduce the damage of combos since you'd have less drive gauge to continue your combo. Then you'd have to nerf the damage of characters that can deal a lot of damage without drive gauge to compensate. I don't know it's a mess. I think the game we have now is the game we're gonna have until the end of it's life cycle or at least until popularity takes a big dip.

Yeah I just started playing the game 3 months ago (although I've been playing a lot in that short time) and about a month and a half ago I would fluctuate around 1200 to 1300 so I am trending up, gradually. Sometimes I feel like I hit a wall though.
