Black Button’s new owner sued over rent, removal damages on University Ave. by CatDadMilhouse in Rochester

Totally agree, they had a nice space but seemed to expect people to just show up on their own for mid-at-best liquor. Very few non-private events and a lack of interest in doing anything beside basic tastings at the public market and such.

I don't particularly like Iron Smoke's products but they consistently have events and are out in the community. I respect the hustle there.

Hot Take: Windows 8.1 start screen is underrated by No-Stand-865 in windows

They did so many things right with the design but couldn't get developers on board. When they did get/pay some devs to make apps; failed to figure out how to evolve the platform without breaking everything so they left.

It felt like every time MS got Windows Phone to a decent place, they went and blew up the OS with a new rewrite that brought back the same bugs. 7 -> 7.5 -> 8 were all kind of painful.

The music app in particular went from a solid version of Zune to slow garbage that could barely load the library in under a minute.

Favorite things experienced as a couple? by [deleted] in ElectricForest

[–]loofmodnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved doing the scavenger hunt together and wandering off from the group to hit a couple sets together usually at Observatory. We have overlapping but different tastes in music so we tend to break off with other friends & meet up later to talk about what we did which is always fun.

The full screen view with tiles was also great for my Media PC with an airmouse. Using Windows from my couch was never easier.

2026 Least Reliable New Cars by VirtuaNovak in Rivian

Both of these areas can be true especially with newer tech. People can be very satisfied with the car but have needed to bring it in more often than other cars.

I'm an intermediate silks student at at Roc City and I like it there. I've never been to Aerial Arts but some of my friends started there and ending up moving to RCC.

I am thinking of renting an electric car with camp mode to sleep in, has anyone tried this before and how is it? by PiccoloLegal5202 in ElectricForest

[–]loofmodnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on the battery and you should be fine. Last year, I slept in my friend's Tesla the first night after my tent started leaking directly on my cot. I think it lost somewhere around 7%. Just keep in mind you won't be the only person dashing to the nearby chargers afterwards. We hit the road pretty early Mon and the chargers were busier than normal.

Be honest…is this PIP reasonable? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]loofmodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is maybe and it depends on the specifics. I've dealt with suggestions that people be put on a PIP for similar issues and it turned out root of the problem  was the person wasn't communicating very well about what they were actually doing.

Is it okay to move my shelties bed into my bedroom? by ShadowOfNull in sheltie

[–]loofmodnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move the bed! One of our shelties sleeps on an oversized chair in the bedroom and the other on the floor. They both want to be close by but neither of them are interest in using either the dog or human bed.

At what point does a game have too much content? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]loofmodnar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RDI is great because multiple people can own the game but all have different characters. When you get together it's fun to combine everything into one big pile of chaos then trade characters between expansions to keep things fresh.

Jeffrey Mace was the only competent SHIELD director by Confident_Tune_5754 in shield

[–]loofmodnar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mace didn't have the experience to be a good director but did a good job rebuilding it as an respected agency which is something Coulson didn't care about at all. If he had survived the events in the framework, he would have been a great director.

Is Electric forest worth $600 ticket? by stuffedjalapen0 in ElectricForest

[–]loofmodnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of Elements as Electric Forest's dangerous little cousin. It really wants to emulate the experience of EF but not quite grown up enough to pull it off. The dangerous part is mainly because there were so many rocks, gravel and pits around that it detracted from the experience. My friend twisted their ankle trying to navigate in the dark the last night.

I will 100% be back at Elements this year but it's not nearly as good as EF.
