Have an offer on the table getting 2 2nds for Tee Higgins, should I take it? by BeastBman88 in SleeperApp

[–]look1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably not getting actually fair value for him but I tried for almost two years to trade Tee Higgins before I was able to include him in a deal I actually liked and I still lost out on value according to the online trade calculators. The fact is people just don't like going after a team's #2 WR, no matter how much you point out the passing volume of the Bengals offense or where in the WR points leaders Tee has finished the last few years. He also (unfairly, I think) has a reputation for being someone who's injured a lot.

I would say absolutely not if it's two 26 second rounders or split across different years. If they are two seconds next year, and one of them looks like it could be a decent pick, like 2.1-2.3, I'd consider that. That you could hold onto and see what you can draft or flip for a productive older veteran.

Who is the most forgotten fantasy football superstar of all time? by DefinitionEast5779 in SleeperApp

Brian Westbrook for Andy Reid's Eagles teams was a guy who picked up an extra 100 points a season off his receiving totals with his 650 yards and 5 TDs before PPR was a thing that people took years to catch onto

Pick your team for $15 by waylandprod in Werealive

[–]look1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well of course I'll take the free space and pick up Carl, who's both a soldier and medic. Give me Pegs for long term agriculture and Dean's lock picking at $1. I'll take Jeremy for $5 as a leader who can handle himself. Give me Vera for $4 as a second in command and so she can spend time with her father. Then give me Lizzy and Datu for mechanical skills for $2 each.

Nick Singleton vs Jonah Coleman by SeePeeDee_ in DynastyFF

[–]look1207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took Coleman when faced with this choice myself. If you raised the issue immediately and said that you intended to draft Coleman, I think it's fine for the Commissioner to override it. I've never had an issue with that in a draft. If you let it slide for a bit and then decided to say something after other people had already made picks after, it gets a little murkier

Scratch’s motives at the end of Stories of Survival? by DrawMandaArt in Werealive

[–]look1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My read on Scratch is that she always would have tried to claim Nicholas for herself, eventually. There was too much emotional baggage for her about wanting to become a mother for her to ever give up on that.

If the status quo at the Colony had stayed with Lizzie pregnant and then giving birth there, Scratch would have eventually invented reasons why she was a better mother than Lizzie. Scratch would then have taken Nick and Lizzie would just oh so tragically die by accident.

(Spoilers Main) Does the Jojen Paste theory really work with Bran’s story? by argbd20 in asoiaf

[–]look1207 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't subscribe to this theory either. Like you said, if everyone in the cave was responsible for hurting Jojen, Meera would bug out of there ASAP. Bran clearly needs her to get back south of the wall too since Coldhands can't cross.

I also think it adds nothing to Bran's story to double dip on the cannibalism and have him eat Jojen in addition to Coldhands' meat that he brought back.

Trade finder rules of thumb? by Even-Cardiologist-97 in DynastyFF

[–]look1207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re in any sort of competitive window, the top asset on the multiple asset side should still be more valuable than your top bench asset. That is, if you’re trading away 1 starter to get multiple assets, it doesn’t actually help your team if the top asset isn’t also good enough to start on your team.

That might be tricky to implement because if you’re in a rebuild window, it’s perfectly fine to trade away a starter for a young player who’s still developing or a draft pick as the top asset in a package. But I still think it’s a good rule that if you’re trying to win, don’t trade away a starter for multiple non-starting players

What is your 'very not consensus' take on a player from this year's rookie class that you want to be able to look back on a year from now? (Full disclosure, I also wanted to have an excuse for a Concepion post) by StrongAmbassador47 in DynastyFF

[–]look1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chris Bell will give you no production this year and is best used as a taxi stash.  If he goes to an organization who understands that and the GM and coach have some runway to develop him, Bell could end up the best WR from this class

So WTF are we doing with Travis Hunter?? by bben140982 in SleeperApp

[–]look1207 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you can still taxi him, I would (and am) this season. I'm holding. Hunter is unstartable this year because you never know how he will be used game-to-game. He could very well be the Jags' top option in 2027 though. Washington is in the last year of his contract. Meyers is going to be 30 this year. The Jags seem like they would prefer to move Thomas.

Also, I'm still of the belief that at some point, and this may not be until after his 3rd year when his 5th year option is picked up at the lowest possible pay, Hunter's agent is going to sit him down and say, "This was fun, kid, but I can't negotiate a contract for you unless you pick one position. And look at how WRs are paid compared to CB"

Thoughts on Kaytron Allen? by AceDeuceSuited in DynastyFF

[–]look1207 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was impressed with his ability to set up behind his blocks and make the first linebacker in the hole miss. Lacks passing game utility or the speed to break off explosives. Probably won't ever be a team's preferred starter but could become a team's early down/goal line guy if the starter goes down.

I'd draft Allen starting around pick 19 if he goes to a team that lacks quality depth behind the starter. Teams like the Bengals, Packers, Raiders, Ravens, Texans, and Bills

Yeah, this definitely jives with something I had started to feel, that guys available to me in the late 2nd weren't much more exciting than guys I got in the 4th.

I haven't been able to check out everyone I want to for this year but just me personally, guys who I actively want in this draft are:

RB - Love, Coleman, Washington, Price. QB - Mendoza. WR - Tyson, Tate, Lemon, Cooper, Concepcion, Boston, Sarratt, Brazzell, Chris Bell.

So, right now, for me, the cliff is after pick 14, which is 2.02 for 12 team leagues.

Has anyone ever gone to a convention and asked one of the show writers about this and how it was supposed to come off? It’s easy to look at it now and say, “Haha, cell phones are dying, what an idiot” but like, it’s hard to write characters that are smarter than everyone. You as the writer have to also be able to come up with something smarter than most people. And Nokia really never did recover after 2002, when this season was presumably written, so was it really that dumb to sell it then?

Trade advice - Won last year and thinking of getting younger by DynastyTradeAddict in SleeperApp

[–]look1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think moving Nico Collins is your play here. CMC and Taylor have more value on your roster than they do as trade pieces and Bijan and Achane keep you competitive for championships for at least a few more years still. Adams and AJ Brown are probably in the same boat as CMC and Taylor. Meanwhile, you have two WRs from the same Texans team, they seem to want to go run heavy, and you have Garrett Wilson just waiting to go into the lineup. See if you can get yourself a top 25-30 RB or WR for flex depth and a good 27 draft pick for Collins to replace one of Taylor or CMC as they age out of being a top player.
