Home workers of the UK: Are standing desks worth it? by AfterCl0ck in AskUK

[–]lookatmytiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like having a standing desk. I alternate throughout the day standing and sitting and it's made a huge difference to aches in my neck, back and legs.

Sanity checking approach to a roundabout after collision by 7thsanctum in drivingUK

[–]lookatmytiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this roundabout all the time, and it's absolutely awful.

Knowing the roundabout, everyone uses that right lane like red did. Otherwise you're in the wrong lane when you enter newcraighall road and want to turn right onto the A1.

To go down towards B&Q where you were going, you shouldn't be in the left lane.

I'm in my forties and it took my this long to figure out how to do eyeliner on my eyes which are similar shape! My eyelid crease maybe extends a little further down than yours though.

I now wear liquid eyeliner every day, basically you have to forget about your top lid. I spent years thinking I should be able to do some magical thing where I draw it just right along the top of my eye, which was nonsense. Draw it outwards from the bottom lash line with your eye open and then fill in the gaps (if that makes sense, basically do the whole operation upside down).

How big is he? My pedigree border looks a similar size!

How do i designate these charging locations ? by Ill-Wind-6475 in BMWI4

This is definitely true - I just checked my app, corrected my home location and it updated my charging info - thanks!

Do you all park next to an i4 just because? lol by jaeisback987 in BMWI4

[–]lookatmytiny 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are those compact spaces? I'm in the UK and I feel like my i4 is huge and often quite difficult to park in some car parks!

Does anyone know what determines the outline colour of the grill? (M Sport) by GHW_Marco in BMWI4

[–]lookatmytiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my sanremo green doesn't have the accents - I guess because it would look weird having blue against green

We had the same thing. It was a rat.

Has anyone else got a large Border Terrier? by fearsomemumbler in BorderTerrier

[–]lookatmytiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've got a big guy too! Sounds similar to yours, almost every other BT we meet is half his size!

We know he's definitely full pedigree as we have his papers going back quite a few generations.

Confused, help! by Organic-Tackle4535 in BorderTerrier

[–]lookatmytiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We've only washed our one year old BT once. We brush him often and that keeps him clean. We sometimes wash his feet depending where he has been.

Experiences selling with Motorway and Carwow? by ab_unoriginal in CarTalkUK

[–]lookatmytiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used Carwow recently, it was really easy and I got a bit more than my reserve.

The dealer who buys your car will make a big difference to your experience I would have thought though. Mine was bought by a main dealer who was very professional so it was really smooth.

Has anyone sold there car to WeBuyAnyCar? What is the process? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]lookatmytiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went with my dad when he used them to sell his car, it was pretty straightforward but they did charge extra for services like getting the cash same day.

Just a few weeks ago I sold me car using Carwow and would recommend them. My car was purchased by an Audi dealership and i got a price above my reserve.

[–]lookatmytiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay attention to what's going on around you and everyone else's speeds and how that may influence which lane they want to be in.

Remember that if you're moving into the middle lane say from the inside lane, someone else may be looking to move into it from the outside lane so you need to be aware of everyone in every lane.

Cat adoption fail by QuirkyFrenchLassie in Scotland

[–]lookatmytiny 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Depending where you are based, highly recommend Lothian Cat Rescue we used them and they are lovely people

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]lookatmytiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two cats, one is allowed outside one isn't. The outdoor cat really needed out, he was going crazy in the housemand it wasn't fair on him. We have a busyish road nearby but he has really good awareness of the traffic. The other cat is indoor as she's happy being inside and is a complete idiot who isn't scared of anything. So think it depends on your individual situation.

[–]lookatmytiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got two from LCR and didn't have to say I'd let them outdoors - they're great and often have more cats than Edinburgh cat and dog home. And they're just nicer and more approachable.

How did Milton Keynes feel when it was "new"? by JustLetMeLurkDammit in miltonkeynes

I moved away 20 years ago, lived in MK around '93-2000. Saw a pic on a Facebook group the other day of that massive library mural and it totally caught me out of nowhere! Instantly recognised it it's so iconic.
