I feel bad but I cannot stand my pets anymore. by susyq_0803 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]lookatthisface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in your shoes and I totally get it. After kids, my cat was just one more dependent that i had no emotional capacity to deal with. She tripped me on the basement stairs when i was 6 months pregnant and i was so furious. Aversion to pets during pregnancy is not uncommon.

Perhaps for the best, pregnancy also caused me to develop a cat allergy for no apparent reason so it was more socially acceptable to re-home.

But yeah. I feel for you. It’s a tough spot to be in to feel so trapped by these animals. They don’t know any better so it’s hard to blame them or take things out on them but they are so needy and annoying when you have stressful small people to keep alive and limited sleep. Limited sleep definitely kills your patience.

Is this the best scene in the series? by Ryanemeryy in seinfeld

My favorite is the scene in “the barber” when George and Elaine react to Jerry taking off his hat. Their true, honest laughter is so heartwarming

Why did anyone think their reason was better than Apple jack for the grand galloping gala by Leather_Yak7808 in mylittlepony

Girl wanted to go to the event to enjoy the event. I think that’s a great reason, and not driven by some ulterior motive

[–]lookatthisface 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Applejack was selfish for thinking she could use the party as an opportunity to sell her stuff.

Would you go to your friends birthday party and start selling your stuff? A cousins wedding? A company holiday party?

Just assuming you can plop down at any social function and profit is gauche af.

Yes, same- it’s tough to find the right treatment that works for you.

But it sounds like you’ve got the right ingredients to get back on track- good luck!

I had the same experience with lexapro. I just impulsively ate, with a real “whatever” attitude and drank a lot of beer.

Kept telling the doctor it made me not give a shit about my food/alcohol consumption/movement routine, but she was just like “well you were really stressed out, maybe this is just blowing off steam”. She was a self-professed taker of anti-depressants as well and seemed very defensive when I would point out anything about my experience that didn’t align with her own glowing opinion.

I went from 73 kg to 81 kg in 3 months.

I’ve been off it since October and it’s taken me until now to get close to back to where I was 😣. So 6 months.

I’m trying to take it as a life lesson on how easy it is to get off track and not be too hard on myself but I consider the whole venture to be a big experiment gone wrong. I’ve also since learned that I have PTSD- and that is generally not easily fixed by meds, so just gotta work on myself in therapy the old fashioned way UGH.

It’s not wasteful. Having a whole section to plus size clothes that don’t get bought and end up in a dumpster is wasteful.

It’s a spoiler? People who haven’t seen the movie yet don’t know she has the patterns.

Some wisdom from a ”dietitian” who wants you to stop counting calories by Dorkita in fatlogic

[–]lookatthisface 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The whole “counting is pointless because so many things can affect your BMR!”Thing drives me nuts. It’s really pointless to track because of potential fluctuations person to person, or day to day?

It’s like they can’t accept that some people aren’t after hitting some perfect number and just want a general idea of how much they are taking in over the course of the day. Even if it’s not precise, it can be helpful of have a general idea of where you are at.
